I know of one guy who came last year i helped him get insurance and it was thru Td Bank. I wont have this problem because my wife doesnt drive and i think thats best then she cant run away so easily hahahaha joking.

You can drive at least 2-6 months with your European driver's licence. It depends on the province. I exchanged mine in Alberta after 6. I had to say goodbye my German and my international one and they gave me the Canadian instead. No course, no training, just a picture taken and $25 paid

In Ontario they r not as nice, we can drive 60 days with international licence, then after you have to get at least 2 tests, which will cost around 100-150$
But if u dont pass for G then another 150$heeh

I would like to send them an email to ask if my decision is positive or negative. This "waiting for the letter" game drives me nuts. Haven't slept in two night now.
But there is still nothing I can do. Wrote with a guy (also common-law) with the same situation, same timeline, additional documents at the same time, decision made at the same time - his was negative.

I know I should think positive but I can't

Just be happy, no application is the same, and if ur relationship is true there is no way they will refuse u

Im the same way...my wife doesnt know anyone here, leaving behind her whole life and everything she has known. But i know she will like the shopping here so i keep telling her i will take her. I dont think she will like the cold so much but thats why we have mexico and cuba year round lol. It will be a culture shock and way of life is different but she said as long as we are together doesnt matter.

The only way she can buy things is with "potvrde" having a government job she can pay in installments. Her monthly salary isnt much. So i tell her here clothing can be cheaper and you will always find a sale lol. Its not easy to have your own money and job then become dependent on someone else. For the longest time i had to convince her that its not mine or yours...its now ours. She was subborn about it so i said ok this is how much my monthly bills are if you want to live like roomates be my guest hagagaha then she quickly realized she has to swallow her pride and slowly adapt to married life and then life in canada.

Hvala puno, ja sam ipak zvala jutros minostry of transportation,i rekla je da treba da prevede vozacku na engleski ili francuski, da posle G1 (written test and eye exam) moze odma da radi G tj full licence, a ako ne prodje G, onda mora da radi G2 pa tek onda G
Mi smo u Kitchener, nadam se da nece morati dugo da ceka za voznju meni dosadilo da vozim geghehe

I ja sam imala vozacku iz Yugoslavije I tako su I meni rekli , ali kad dajes written test and eye exams ako prodjes , pravlaj appointment right away za G2 ne moras da ceka, ako process G2 isto tako ti je I za G,

Hahahahaha pa da she keeps saying work lots you will need money lol. Shopping will have to be my medicine for her for awhile. All of you know in Serbia you want to buy clothes, makeup, shoes you will spend 200 euro and you maybe make 300-400 a month. So i tell her all the sales they have her she gets excited i cant wait to spoil her. She deserves to relax and take it easy for some time. I know she will want to work and contribute but until she learns the language it will be hard to find anything.

I love Greek food and drinks. There's a Greek restaurant one block away from where I live. It was really good but it was weird that the menu was totally different than the menu from my favorite Greek restaurant in Germany ;-)

I can't wait for summer. We had a mix of warm weather and snow in the last few weeks and a lot of grey sky which is not normal for Calgary. I hope the rainy season won't be as bad as last year. I want green grass, blue sky and high temperatures

Unfortunately Greek restaurants in Canada although they make a very big effort to offer tasty and great food, they are not too updated into the modern Greek cooking because of the distance. Restaurants in Germany of course they have different type of dishes because of their proximity to Greece. You can say that any kind of ethnic food in North America tends to be Americanized

Does it get green at summer time in Calgary? I understand that Alberta is a semi arid land. Please tell me there's green and lots of it?
I also thought that Albert gets a fair share of blue skies. Doesn't it?
