I did travelled and didn’t had any issues at the port of entry. You’re good to travel if your TRV is valid.Did you find an answer to this?
Was your PGWP approved after you re-entered Canada? Did you mention to the officer at the port of entry that you applied for your PGWP outside of Canada? Thanks.I did travelled and didn’t had any issues at the port of entry. You’re good to travel if your TRV is valid.
Yes it did got approved. My port of entry was Montreal. I was asked by the officer if I’m working somewhere. I informed him my PGWP is in implied status. That’s it! No other questions were asked. Was your PGWP approved after you re-entered Canada? Did you mention to the officer at the port of entry that you applied for your PGWP outside of Canada? Thanks.

Thanks for your response, Patron. So you're saying you applied for a PGWP when you were outside of Canada by completing the 'inside of Canada application" option?Yes it did got approved. If you’re applying for PGWP from outside canada and you’re planning to come back, choose the option for PGWP(within canada). I made the mistake for completing (outside canada) application. And later on end up getting that approved and have to withdraw it and pay for another application for PGWP(inside canada). This way my work permit got delivered at my address in canada. If you’ll gonna apply from outside Canada, then the process will be same as study permit (get it stamped first then collect work permit from port of entry).
Hello, I’m in the same situation what you were. I’ve few questions regarding that. I’ll really appreciate if you share your experience.Yes it did got approved. My port of entry was Montreal. why you had to apply again for pgwp from inside canada?
The one you applied for outside canada, couldn’t you able to get the work permit letter from the port of entry to your home address?
And the TRV you had, was that for S-1 category?
And after re-entering were you able to continue working?
Hi,
If applied for PGWP from outside canada then it works same as study permit. You have to collect work permit at the port of entry which I wasn’t able to do as I was in Canada. If you plan to re enter before the decision is made on your PGWP, make sure you apply for PGWP(inside canada) regardless of your location.
Secondly, my TRV was valid S-1 with multiple entry.
Thirdly, I didn’t have work at the time I re-entered. But If you apply for inside Canada PGWP, you’ll get a letter which can be provided to your employer. This letter won’t be provided to you if you apply from outside Canada.
I'm in india now. Can I apply pgwp inside canada while I am in india ?Hi,

I have already applied outside India PGWP, I am thinking to withdraw it and apply inside canada
How do you apply "inside Canada" when you are not "inside Canada" ?Yes you can apply for inside canada application when you’re in India.
Though for your previous application from outside canada, you might not get a refund for it, if it went under processing. Still give it a try. I didn’t got any refund.
If you’re only visiting your home country after your exams, have a valid TRV and study permit, you can apply for inside canada application. It will be the same way as if you were in Canada. How do you apply "inside Canada" when you are not "inside Canada" ?
im sorry. but you get implied status only when you apply inside of Canada and not outside. The WP-EXT that you get is the implied status afaik. Anyways, after you went to Canada and applied for PGWP inside Canada, how long did it take you to get the WP-ext? I have already applied outside Canada PGWP but I am thinking to travel to Canada and then apply again from InsideYou can apply for Inside Canada application regardless of your actual location. It’s just a different IMM form. Yes, you have put your current country as Canada to get that IMM form for inside canada application. Check YouTubers for guidance to fill those forms.
Now you have a valid point that passport pages will show an exit. It worked for me cause I reapplied after getting back. In such case they might gonna reach back to you for clarification on that, and by that time if you came back then provide them updated pages with re-entry stamp.
There is a grey area regarding what the border officer decides at the port of entry. For me, I entered via Montreal and was only asked if I’m working somewhere. My reply was not currently but I am in implied status of PGWP.
If you’re coming back before your convocation then you don’t even have to apply for PGWP, it can be done once you’re back. At the port of entry you have a reason to re-enter.
For your second scenario, the whole process will be same as study permit. Upon approval you’ll get Original Passport Request letter. You have to send your passport to get stamped then travel and at the port of entry you’ll get work permit.
Though I won’t suggest going this way. Rather reduce your vacation weeks and come back earlier. If you get letter of completion before your arrival, then apply for PGWP inside canada. This will give you a letter with implied status. Carry a print of that and your study permit and you’ll be fine. Later at some point if they ask for clarification, it will be easier to provide that rather than been denied of entry or loosing your resident status.
