US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

Hi,

I have to apply for PR application , I currently live in Canada and my husband lives in US from last 2.5 years and lived in two different states between this time span.

What do I need for his Police clearance certificate from USA.
If anyone can guide me regarding this ??
We already asked our relatives to PCC from India through local police station but I am confused regarding US PCC.
He recently got new passport from Atlanta also.

The states he lived in don't matter as you get an FBI certificate not a state level one. It's a simple matter of sending his fingerprints to the FBI. Get multiple sets of prints if he uses the ink and roll method, because sometimes the fingerprints will not be good enough and you'll have to wait another 3 months to do it all over again.

yes you can send in your PR application without the PCC. you need to write an explanation

If I am not wrong as I am already in Canada; so I do not need PCC from Canada? right ?

Dear all,
I need your help on my situation. I have received SINP PNP nomination and I have accepted my PNP nomination in express entry tool.
Now I came to know that PCC is invalid before last travelled issued one.
I have my USA PCC which I have received on April 2015, I have travelled to USA for one week vacation in July 2015. could any one please let me know still my usa pcc is valid , mostly next draw I will receive ITA could please suggest what could be be done on my case.
Shall I submit all my documents with letter of explanation for USA pcc.
Kindly help on my issue.
I will apply again USA PCC once I get new USA pcc I will submit to CIC .
Could any one please let me know is it acceptable.

I spoke with a representative today as well and he told me that they are currently processing Jan. 6 ?
I sent mine Dec. 30 so hopefully everything went well and get them in the mail soon!
If the address is within the US it should only take up to a week, correct ?
And another question, how many fingerprint cards did you send ? Ive been paranoid about that all day today ???

Thank You!! I called again today, they said mine was sent out today! App received Jan 4 and credit card charged April 4
We are hoping to get it ASAP since our VO already sent the request for additional forms and FBI Certificate is one of them! Fingers crossed for both of us!!

You can send it without, but make sure that by the time your VO asks you for it, you will have it ready. They usually give you a time frame of 60 Days to provide the missing document, if you can't get it in time, you application will get refused.

I will send my application for FBI clearance certificate soon. I was wondering if we need to fill in anything where it asks ORI in the fingerprint card? Do we just leave it blank?

Yes you can leave that blank.
ORI is normally located at the "Employer and Address" portion, however that's not relevant for us.
It's intended for any company in the US that requires a background check before accepting an applicant etc.

so does the 3 month expiry date end on the postmarked date? My husbands prints expire by April 30th- so does that mean if we put it in the mailbox by April 30th we are ok??

There are a lot of posts here that talk about mailing the FBI report to the processing center. However, when I received my notice for a pending FBI report from CIC, it asked me to "upload" it to the application in 60 days. I went into my application and verified that there is a spot to upload. Is this something new? Or am I missing a step?

Hmmm...Maybe CIC has finally realized that scanning/uploading the `new' FBI IHSR is exactly the same as receiving the original by mail, since they are no longer issued on blue security paper and have zero security features.
