US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

My fingerprints and Identity History Summary Check application was received by the FBI on April 21st
When I called them this past Tuesday they said it was mailed to me on July 10th
I received it today, July 17th
The date on my FBI IHSC letter is July 7th

Posting this in case others waiting for get their letter from the FBI find this useful.

Based on the dates above, if you don't request it before getting ITA, it's almost impossible to receive the PCC before the 90 days deadline...

"Invitation To Apply" , it's what you get when you enter the Express Entry and are invited to continue your permanent residency application.

I inquired today, FBI is opening application packages received on May 5th, 2017. Thought to share here as many people can correspond to their application status. I will encourage people to do the same as it's very convenient for people like me to take decision whether to wait or submit file without PCC.

No, they don't process applications on holidays/weekends. FBI identity check department is typical government styled, they barely work on weekdays like snails

I was hopeful I thought perhaps since last Wednesday they were on May 5th, and today May 10th that they worked on 8th and 9th over the weekend. Always makes me laugh how the government is so slow to process things, but when they want something from us, we get no such time.

In that case I would never get my PCC before the deadline (August 16th) of PR application submission. My PCC application reached there on May 20th which was Saturday, so I assume FBI will consider my application receive date on Monday which was May 22nd. My dates are quite similar to your's, it took over 12 weeks for you. I believe I should not wait and submit my application with explanation, but I am afraid if they reject my application. Any thoughts? Anybody went through this situation?

How come you have a deadline to submit your application? Or have you already submitted, and have been asked by your visa office to submit additional documents by a certain date? If that's the case- just contact your visa office and explain the situation. From my own experience, and from what I've heard from others, they're typically quite accommodating.

My bad, I didn't give background of my situation. I received ITA though express entry to apply for PR within 90 days and my last day is August 16th, 2017. I haven't submitted my PR application yet because I am waiting for FBI PCC, though I know CIC suggests if you haven't received your PCC before the deadline, submit explanation and valid proof for not getting PCC. I heard people doing that but for few their application got rejected.
