We have contacted the MP when our case sit for 9 months..and then we got a request for Meds...hubby went to appointment and then rec'd another letter for meds...apparently CIC could not figure out how to open the attachment........CIC Dr is working with us because the third one has no requests in emedical file...We were advised by the CIC Dr that they were advised the case is now under investigation ...at this point the 90 days from 2nd request for meds is this Sunday...I have requested the case notes for the 6th time...one time CIC forgot to email me, they should be here on or around 05SEP2015...If we do not hear anything by 05SPE2015 I will be contacting my MP again..I am not looking for a push I am just not wanting the case to sit from August 2015 to May 2016 like it did last year....

Is there a reason why your application was sent to LA i might have missed it if you said earlier? Im curious why they sent it there was it due to the medicals?

Really we do not know why...My husband had and has an approved TRP as well enough time has passed...The MP told us that in APR 2014 all the cases went to LA...I am sure peopel are sick of hearing this but becasue the TRP expires in SEP2015 we wanted to extend, because we do not want any problems at the boder, but they have changed the rules and you have to reapply ...Thank goodness we sent in a new application with FBI background and all to New York in May2015 cause for someone reason in JUNE2015 CIC LA wanted a new Rehab/TRP appilcation even though hubby has a approved and active TRP, we waited I think it was 14 weeks for the FBI report and had included it with the TRP application..CIC LA stated they would just request the file from CIC New York...So far our Meds have expired and we have had two additional request for MEDs one for exrays and the other is under investagation, with help from the CIC Dr, thank goodness the CIC Dr is not charging us for all the phone calls emails etc that both them and us have been creating......the police back ground checks have expired but like I said we have another one that we sent in ...I am just fearful the case will sit like last year from August2014 to June2015...

To clarify any confusion, I'm a January 2015 applicant. We got Sponsorship Approval 3/23/15. We didn't have our FBI background check when we sent our application on 1/26/15 so we sent it when in came in about 2 months after.

Thank you for that clarification. I in no way meant to condescend to anyone's processing time. I thought you meant you were sitting at AOR all this time, I did ask if that's what you meant.

It took us 8 years to do our application, I have absolutely no reason to condescend to anyone, and I am not even a PR, I'm a Canadian Citizen so why would I have the need to do so? I really just try to spend some time helping on here and I want to learn more about the process.

Thank goodness you have a good doctor this time, but I wonder if it is true that all cases were sent LA in April last year?

I do not know if its true or not I just know that alot of people from Apr 2014 have been waiting or its taken a long time to process....

Has anyone noticed...CIC updated the Outland Processing time....LA 28 months...New York 39 months and Ottawa 15 months...First time in all the times looking at CIC they have updated on time!!!!

I am at the stage now from a March 2015 submission that things are In Process and got an email a week ago that new medicals were required. That showed up August 10. The original medical was done August 8, 2014 and was submitted on August 28, 2014. Since only the medical has been requested, I am hoping that the picture and statement were able to meet the needs of proof.

Dave, have you asked for your medical expiry to be waived? And do you have any idea how long it takes to process medicals? We were also asked to redo our medicals. It feels like we might be almost done, but if medicals take two months to finish, then I'll need to stop checking ecas for a while.

When we called CIC they told us that it will take 6 months to review the second medical...I don't think I believe that to much because we had 90 days to get the 2nd request completed, 45 days for the third but there was nothing to get done and the case notes say the "due date" is 24SEP2015, which seems to be the Follow up day...

It's very possible that they will extend your medical, especially since you may be at the end of this process. When did you apply?

Our application was received March 30, 2015. We did the medical before we had everything ready to send off unfortunately

Hi all,

Question for you regarding address change:

I am currently "visiting" my wife in Canada (and plan on renewing my visitor visa until my PR is approved).

My address on ECAS is my father's home address back in the U.S. He's selling his house, and thus I need to change the address.

Can I change my address to my wife's Canadian address without raising suspicion? And is the address on ECAS where the CIC would send my future paperwork once approved?

I have a question...I have read CIC can extend the medical if it expires because they are at the end of the process....I do not understand that...in our case, according to the notes had nothing started anything at all...they were just at the beginning of the case, after a year and they extended it and then requested more....When I read the CIC site it does not say at the end of the process it says not able to land before decision can be made...Are people finding that if they extend it they are at the end?...Our case is in LA and the medical request are coming from Ottawa...Has anyone had this before?...I would think the case would be all together...

Sunset, I only had to have one medical in the 19 month ordeal I went through. I think it's hit or miss. I have no idea why they choose to extend or choose to re-medical.

Ineffable. It is fine to be visiting your wife and have an outland application in process. I would change it on ECAS (make sure it's the mailing and current address). Then when you get the paperwork you can flagpole at the border.

quick question guys! Who receives the COPR? The sponsor or the spouse? I know for sure it’s the spouse I could be wrong?
