For a good idea on the FBI timeline, I was following a thread titled 'FBI PCC' under Skilled Worker / Professional Immigration.

I would've posted a link but the forum does not allow me to do so.

We sent off the finger prints to the FBI at the end of February and nothing yet. From what I understand that there is a back log at the FBI and prints are taking up to 5 months to process! Has anyone else heard anything about this?

We sent in all of our documentation except the FBI finger prints on April 7, 2015.

Just waiting now.

My husband is coming from New York.

Just to give you some background, I sent mine in Jan 7th, received the clearance last week on the 16th. So your looking at a good 3 months at the least.

thank you all! I kept checking my credit card and was wondering what the hold up was.
glad I wasn't the only one.

;D

I am so glad I joined this forum... It's like a personal support group! :P

I got my COPR today. I want to drive to the border and land but my husband is working all day. Does he have to be with me?

Congrats! You may land alone if you wish (just make sure he doesn't want to be there :P)

ETA - don't forget your B4/B4-A's

Since she's probably on her way to the border now ;D, CIC probably extended them for a year.

CIC may extend medical validity for a year if your application is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity). For US applicants, it's pretty routinely done (in fact, fun fact: US applicants seemed to be the pilot for this program as they did it for a while for Buffalo VO applicants before it was rolled-out).

WOW, I wasn't aware that they would do that. Thank you very much for this information! I did my medical a month and a half (Beginning of Nov) before we submitted the application at the end of December, so I was a little worried since the process in Ottawa seems to be taking longer now. I think I will be OK then.

You can relax, about that at least =) It's transparent to you so you won't find out about it until you see your CoPR expiration date.

If my belongings are already in Canada, do I still need b4's? I just want to import my car but I don't know if its going to be worth all the hassle. I trying to see if I have to do it right away.

Is that advisable? I thought you had to send in everything together. We have at least 6 weeks before my husband's new passport gets here anyway but if it's an option to get it in process before the FBI check comes in, that would be great to know!
