Re: US outland applicants' thread :) Letter received from Ottawa

Hi, I am sponsoring my US common-law-husband and received a letter from CPP-Ottawa asking for form 5406 and 5669 to be completed by my husband's son. this was done and the originals were sent with the package. I have photocopies of them. They are asking for originals. Do I just go back and give them photocopies of the originals sent with the package or do I have to get them redone again. thank you. Somehow they got lost between mississauga and Ottawa.

Tks.

So ottawa lost my FBI report which i sent in may to buffalo, and all this time i have been waiting. Why the hell they wont email me and ask for the fbi. Bunch of dumbasses, they deny getting one, good thing i have the copies and mailing receipt which i have sent them scanned via email. Should i mail then as well. I cant do nothing but shake my head for the lack of responsibility. I am real mad!! So pissed!! Urghhh

I'd suggest ordering a new FBI certificate. While it may be a waste of the $18, my guess is they are still going to want you to do that anyway so why not minimize the inconvenience?

I'd have him do new originals - and send them a letter saying something like: "we submitted these with the original package, here are the copies, but in order not to impede this process any more than necessary here are new originals as well - note they are the same as the originals submitted to you previously..."

Yes, it's stupid. But rather than argue with them, point out they're idiots and comply with their unreasonable request.

So today my E-cas changed showing my current home address to Waterloo, ON. I am excited cus my e-cas changed tho I dunno if it is cause for excitement that my passport is on it way back LOL so if the address change means the visa is issued then it took them 13 days to issue the visa from the day they received it...

Nothing has changed on ECAS it still says in process...no address update nothing...so I wouldn't go as per what it says. I'm thinking some agents are faster than others!

Just wondering if anything changed for you? I know we got requests close together and they got your passport 2 days before they got mine and I had E-cas update with new address today... anyways keeping fingers crossed for u!

Congrats guys!

It's interesting to see that the physical passport process seems to be quicker. I got PPR from Ottawa about 10 days after you guys and was told yesterday to wait another 2-4 weeks before being finalized, but that might not include the time it takes to actually receive it. Almost there brethren.

I only sent photocopies! We shall see I am hoping we get it back soon!

I checked on E-CAS too and got DM today. Home address changed as well. I wonder if LA is going to send my actual pp back to my address in TX or here in Canada as I am here visiting when I got the email to send my pp to LA last Oct. 12th. I hope that those who had their PPR get their COPR soon. And for those who are still waiting patiently to get PPR I hope y'all get them soon too! Goodluck everyone!

Hey everyone!

I just mailed in our application on Thursday -- it is supposed to arrive on Monday. I was so happy to have it off my hands!!

But I just realized, to my horror, that I forgot to write "Sponsorship: Spousal" on the top of the address, when I mailed it.

I think everything else is intact - it should be pretty clear.

But is that likely to delay things? Someone please tell me they won't send it back because of that. I'm having a mini panic now!!

Thanks in advance,
S

all we wrote on our enevolope was the address for CPC-M and our return address... 6 1/2 months later I am awaiting the return of my passport... Good Luck!

Welcome to the immigration horror show, where every day you will wonder what is going on and worrying that you forgot something, did something wrong, or will be found deficient in some capacity.

My advice - don't worry. Work on other things. When you don't hear from CIC it either means nothing is happening or it means everything is going fine. We literally heard three times:

- Sponsor approval
- PPR
- COPR return

That's it. :)

So don't worry. They do seem to figure things out pretty well at CIC for all that we complain about them.
