Since it says original copy I would imagine they would want an original certified copy from the courts. I wouldn't email them anything..they don't really reply and I feel like they'll just delay your application even more :(

Send them the original. You can get the court record stamped and "sealed" by the presiding court. Just pay for 2-3, you may need one again someday anyway. I think it cost me $5 for 5 copies of my court record, signed with the presiding court's seal.

Regarding the COPR -- Not that we are anywhere near getting one, now that they doc requested us a couple weeks ago -- but does anyone know how long they give you to land in Canada, after you receive the COPR?

It's based on the earlier expiration date of your medicals or your passport. Looks like in your case, the meds were done Sept 3, 2014, so if COPR comes soon, you will have until Sept 3, 2015 of this year. If it starts to push close to that date for some reason, you will likely have your medicals extended a little since you are from the U.S.

Hi everyone, I have a question for you all. Yesterday we got our request for the the Right of Permanent Resident Fee also a request of proof of address and that we are still living together. We had not paid the Fee upfront do to costs in our lives at the time. We are wondering if anyone knows about how long it will take once we send the proof and the fee. It feels like we are so close to the end now... It has been a long haul for us since we first applied Inland and 2 months after they gave us AOR they sent the entire package back saying some things were missing, none were since what they listed was right there in the package they sent back, that all wasted 4 months of our lives... Such is life as you wait on any government agency....

This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by CIC staff. It is posted on the CIC website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

Officers can request a reassessment of an applicant’s medical file by a medical officer or a Health Branch delegated staff. Such request may result in the issuance of a new medical certificate.

Note:
The decision to grant a reassessment is at the discretion of a medical officer or a Health Branch delegated staff.

The process applies only to cases where a final decision is pending due to either:

•the expiration of a medical certificate; or,
•when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.
The process does not apply to applicants who are inadmissible on health grounds since inadmissible ‘M’ profiles do not expire.

Eligibility criteria for requesting a reassessment of the applicant’s medical file:
•Medical assessment is less than 15 months old (for applicants residing inside or outside Canada); or
•Medical assessment is older than 15 months, and the applicant has been residing in Canada continuously for at least the past 2 years (for applicants residing in Canada only).

I'm confused. In your case they did extend your medical. Your medical expires after 12 months and they can give you a 3 month extension if your application is nearing completion. In your case they have given you the 3 month extension (15 months) and they're requesting a new one. Your medical also reflects the date your spouse/partner needs to land by so it wouldn't make sense to give them like 2 weeks to land if anything. Take this as a good thing friend! :D

I do take the request for medical again as a good thing, it means someone has touched our file for the first time since August 2014 but I have also been reading that when 2nd medical request some people have been waiting 7 to 8 months and nothing...I copied and pasted the CIC info because someone in all these posts, posted that if they rec'd your medical with your application medical would not expire...this is not the case....For us this has been a long process and with no answers and I remember reading at the beginning of this process all the happy happy things so I am sharing the crappy things!!!!...lol

I have been following this board since I filed my application in order to get a feel for what sort of timeline to expect. My husband and I filed our application on January 20th, and I saw we got DM when I checked yesterday. Hope that helps anyone else with a similar timeline. Good luck to you all.

Here's a fun experience for your reading pleasure. Our application was received on March 25, and we still haven't heard about sponsorship. My wife (the sponsor) called last week and was told we would get a response in three days, after being told it was in Ottawa. I take that as good news...that maybe someone had just forgotten to push a button that sends the email and updates the website or some nonsense like that.

Last week passes and nothing. She calls again this morning and gets the worst agent...saying she shouldn't be calling again, wait three months before you call again, etc. She's in tears when we get on Skype. So I call. I'm the applicant, in the U.S. and I get the nicest agent...give her our file number from the AOR, she verifies my identity, and checks...the agent last week sent the inquiry to Ottawa and not Mississauga and that's why we haven't heard anything. She didn't see anything indicating missing info, but also didn't see anything else either, so we are still waiting on SA, even though they are now processing applications from April 15. Sucks, but I'm glad I called and very thankful the agent checked for me since I'm not the sponsor.

You might want to double check and see if they classified your application as an Inland application. The reason i say this is because this is what happened to me. It took me 3 months to get Sponsorship Approval. I had to contact my partner's MP office to get the file corrected as they told me possibly when they received the file someone in Missasauga placed my file in the inland queue and had i not informed them to double check the file i am pretty sure it would still be in the inland queue today. So I would call CIC and confirm whether its being classified in their system as an outland or inland app. If inland contact your wife's MP's office to get it corrected.
