Hey guys

Typically, what happens after a PPR?

I was just asked for a copy of my passport, and a receipt showing I paid the permanent residency fee and that an interview would be waived. I was able to immediately e-mail all the documents to them. What happens next? i don't want to get to excited over nothing!

Wow! That's fantastic. We applied the same day but I got my Sponsorship Approval a week later than you. Typically after PPR you'll get 'decision made' on ECAS a couple weeks later and then a few weeks after that, your COPR in the mail. YAY! :D

Hi guys, today I got an e-mail from CPC-CTD@ottawa asking for the CSQ ( that I already received) the RPRF, Family Class ( the permanent residence fee receipt) and a Shedule A: seperate and newly completed A backgroud Declaration Form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature. ( I don't understand we already sent all of that.....)

Can you guys help in telling me what is this all about?

if they are asking for proof of RPRF, then i suspect you are nearing the end of your process. The new schedule A can be because there is an updated version than the one you submitted, and they need it to be current.

Hey everyone,

I've been staying with my husband in Ontario for 2 months now, I got a landing card. I've been waiting for his tax form and officially paid and sent out our application today! I am so excited yet nervous. There are so many things to think and worry about, I guess one step at a time. At least now when I go back to visit Jersey & come back to Canada, I have proof we are going about things the proper and legal way...they were nice when I drove over the border the first time without having our application submitted. Good luck to everyone! I will keep an update on our progress!

So! My file that was mistakenly sent to Sydney Nova Scotia office where they review Federal Skilled Workers residency apps has been sent back to Ottawa CIC!!!! and they asking now to pay the RPRF, Family Class, fee.

Does that mean that my application is moving along at a good pace now or does it not mean anything? I'm afraid to get excited too early and haven't been able to find any info online. (my meds have already been received in the past).

Anyone have a clue if it's good news or just so-so? ::)

If you had paid the RPRF up front, you'd have received a PPR instead. An RPRF request is only sent when there is a positive selection decision. If they aren't asking for anything BUT the RPRF, you will be done, likely within 4 months (I usually tell people to figure 2-4 month delay if the RPRF is paid on request rather than up front).

Note: the RPRF fee receipt is sent to CPC-M. You should also send a copy to CPC-O, but updating your case for the payment is the responsibility of Mississauga.

RPRF fee payment is the only thing that they are requesting. Does that mean that as soon as they receive the copy of receipt (in the email they asking to email them the scan of receipt to the same email address that it came from) that i will get the letter informing me of their positive decision??????? How long is that process if i'm correct in assuming it??? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well they might ask you for a copy of your passport. Or they may just issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) document. That's basically your "letter of their positive decision".

Heyhey,

So last Monday I was waived an interview, got a PPR, was asked to pay my final fee, and had to send in proof that my wife currently resides in canada. We immediately sent everything in by email that same day. Any idea how much longer until we here of anything.
This anticipation is killing me!

Figure another 2-4 months. Basically, they seem to work on a batch processing model, so once that information is added to your file, your file is added to the queue to review. The officer then reviews the file and either finalizes it or requests more information.

I woke up this morning to find decision made! Should i be worried about anything negative? When I was sent PPR, they also asked for proof of my wifes residency in Canada and our final permanent resident fee. All three were sent immediately.
This is going to be a long weekend for sure!

No, you should just sit back and wait for your COPR. It should be arriving in roughly 2 -4 weeks.

Good luck on your new journey in life!
