boujasim,

You are not new to this forum (I mean that in a good way ;) ), you should know well by now, that men coming to Canada have a higher interview and scrutiny rate, than the other way around. It's unfortunately true, but so many bad apples have spoiled it for the good ones...[That is not to say it is true that women could not and would not use men.....]

And I say that as a wife, waiting for her husband. Rorita, I feel your pain hun :(. I am looking at jobs over there as I really don't want to wait without him.. haram aleykh..why they do this us? :( AND you know, in the UK, they have a fiance (?) visa, it's a step down from the actual immigration - but and there are some strict rules with it, but my gosh, the families are reunited quicker!! why they dont have that or something like it here in Canada?

Good luck though, inshallah it will pass quickly.

Rasha, thank you for your kind words, it is very hard being apart like this, only God knows what we are suffering, specialy me, in a society like lebanon, every person that see you , has to ask you hundred of question: what did you did, when are you going back, why it took so long, are you having problem with your husband...God I was almost to have a nerves breakdown.
You said that you are planing to find work, u mean in Lebanon, well take it from me it is hard, specially with the 20.000 lebanese family returning from Dubai in the end of the school time, because they lost their job...
Boujasim, I wish I didn't heard your friend story, it made me cry...I hope everyone will be reunit with his spouse very soon.
Marelena, as you said I guess the same that damascus office isn't a hard office to deal with, but the problem is that he deals with lot of not geniun marriage, arabe men marriying canadian women for PR purpose, so they have to check everything. I am not saying that arab man are bad, but the situation in the arab world and as well in lebanon, make them do this.
I hope for all that this bad period will be a memory in our head soon in the future, and to learn from it, that nothing is easy inlife, you have to work hard to get to your goals.
by the way, isn't there any , I mean any lebanese wife waiting her PR on this forum, if not, well I have to be elected queen :)
listen to this: I found on the internet, i don't recall where, that 2 couple has sent their picture without close, on the bed , in order to proove that they are a real couple...can you believe thattt

Thanks Rorita.
I'm sure my husband they are going to ask him for an interview since I've been in Canada for almost 28 years and he is living in Lebanon even we met while i was visiting Lebanon I guess it doesn't count but we have nothing to hide but what upset me is we are trying to build a family but we can't for now because of the distance so that it's been taken away from our life and I find it's not fair for some people who can provide everything but still immigration question if their marriage is genuine. Of course when you marry is not for the fun of it but rather because you have to build a long term relationship especially when you had lived with that person after the marriage. I could kind understand people getting married but not been able to live together but people who are married and lived for months even without any documentation for me it's based on genuine marriage rather than just for the sake of it. Again we are not in a perfect world since we don't all have the same way of thinking.

This forum is a miracle, at least this thread is!!

Rorita_76, I need to do the same thing. I was recently in Damascus and I lived three years in the states(michigan). The only different thing is:
1- I don't have that card thing, the one online provided by another member will come out on paper :( and with an already filled "ORI" number (" http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/pdf/fpcardb.pdf "), so what do I need to do? Please help, I am sure u know how desperate I feel

2- I have done the FBI one when I was in the states but I didnt know they need the State Police one, so I only need the State Police one, is the same form (with the link above) valid for that too?

Please tell me what happened with you and if the authorities in the states accepted the thing u sent them

Thank you..waiting desperately and impatiently for your reply :(

Hey there,
here is what I did, my husband live in the USA, he send me 4 set of fingerprint card, 2 for FBI and 2 for State police, the original one, via FedEx, cause as you said, the one on the site will be printed on regular paper, and it won't be good for fingerprint, I don't know how people where able to use them.

Check these 2 links, one for FBI one for state police:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

I don't know where you live now, in Lebanon , I went to a police station, to a special fingerprint department, with the fingerprint card and my passport, did the fingerprint, went to external affair ministry, they stamped them so they will accept them in USA.
send them to my husband , along with an authorization paper for both my husband and the lawyer , so they can be able to get the fingerprint back from the state police and FBI, cause they don't give it to anyone else than the applicant unless there is an authorization.
Along with the fingerprint, the authorization paper, they put a cover letter, asking for expedite result, and on the outside of the envelop they put as well an expedite request with a dead line.
In your case, you need the original fingerprint card, and to have someone in the USA with an authorization from you to collect it from the state police.
You said that you have already done the FBI clearance, just check for the validity of it; I guess it is 3 or 6 month, not sure.
Hope that will help you

Thanks for replying...I hope u can still answer some more questions (sorry):

1- Was the FBI form the same as the state police one? did it look like the one in this link (" http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/pdf/fpcardb.pdf ")? Because the thing in this link says it can be used even if it is printed out..I just need to know if this is the one u used for the state police...

2- About the authorization paper, is this some special form or did you just write that you authorize your husband and signed it?

3- How long did it take you or is it gonna take you to get the result back? because you mentioned expedited results so I was just wondering...

Thanks again...Good Luck with you and your husband...

PS yes I live in Lebanon right now, I will go and do the fingerprints at the place you mentioned..Thank you

The fingerprint card that I used are the same for the FBI and state police, with is the one in the link you provide. They say you can use the one on the site, but I don't know concerning the kind of paper you should use to print over, because I guess, using a normal printer paper during the fingerprint, might make the ink soak, I don't know, plus there is the stamp on it, I don’t know what you can do about it.
the authorization that I used, is a special form called: "Authorization for release of information", my husband send it to me along with the fingerprint card, I don't know if you can find it online or it is a special form made by our lawyer, I sign it, and took it to a public notary, make his stamp, take unreasonable amount of money as usual..:)
Along with these I signed and send a PC1 letter: "authorization by visa applicant for release of police and court record" witch can be found on the internet, I don't have the link, but search under PC-1.. this one doesn’t need notary stamp, thank God…he take about 25$ for each stamp..:((
Concerning the time, we sent all these: 2 fingerprint, PC-1 letter, authorization, cover letter to each of FBI and Michigan state police in April 16, with a dead line at April 28. The lawyer called both of them this week, we should receive the state police Monday or Tuesday, and I guess the FBI as well, or little later
Very important note: make sure to writ on the cover letter and the outside of the envelop the same deadline date, and the expedite request for immigration purpose

hey there, here is the link you need, start reading from Appendix B, and print the PC-1 letter, make sure you change the office from buffalo, to Damascus, it is where your file is, right. My lawyer just put a line on buffalo and write by hand, Damascus, Syria.
where you able to have someone send you the fingerprint card? if not try asking in the consulate in beirut, since starting march 31-2009 they have started accepting immigration file not only visitor

Now I remember this form.. I had to fill it to get the FBI record...Thanks a lot for finding it for me...

I arranged with my friend in the states to send me the cards, he should do that today hopefully, although in an email the state police said let my local lebanese law enforcement agency do it (without specifying that it should be done on the special FBI card) but i dont want to risk it you know...

Thanks for your help again and again...and good luck for you and everyone here
