Hi everyone

Does anyone know where in Scotland I can get my fingerprints done. I need them for the FBI Police Clearance and the Australian Police clearance. I went to our local police office and they reluctantly did prints for the FBI using the FBI fingerprint card but refused to do a second set for Australia as Australia don't provide a fingerprint card - they refused to do the prints on a scottish police fingerprint card!! The FBI prints were smudged and I know they will not be good enough quality. After phoning around dozens of police offices I am losing hope and fear I will have to give in and pay for a flight down to London and £95 for the prints... I live outside Glasgow so if anyone knows any police office in or near Glasgow or Edinburgh that have a finger printing service (and who know what they are doing!) that would be much appreciated.

Thanks and hope someone out there can help!

When I got my fingerprints done in leeds for Australian report I looked in online and the local police forensics lab did them for me and said that they did them all the time. They just used a standard fingerprint card that they use in uk.

On a bright note too, the Australian Federal Police seem to be doing the fingerprint checks really quick now. Mine was done in 1 week.

:) Thanks for your responses... I tried to call forensics and kept getting put through to a main switchboard who couldn't help :( Frustration got the better of me so decided to book an appointment in London afterall...they were very friendly and accommodating on the phone, which was reassuring. Head down in March... next will be the waiting game - although good to know Australia waiting time has improved... need to try and get the timing right for both! ::)

Hi :D
you can get you finger prints taken at Lothian and Borders Police Station by Mark McLoughlin who is a independent and charges £60.00 per set you can contact him on
http//:markmcloughlin.vpweb.co.uk
e-mail is mcloughlin.1fingerprintservice@yahoo.com

hope to hear from you

One of my Canadian friends had the same issue in getting fingerprints taken in Glasgow for a visa. As I am a Fingerprint Expert, I advised him to attend his local police station and ask if they could be taken, but was surprised by how many times he was rejected. At work, we receive telephone calls regarding this, but as we do not have the facilities or man power, we suggest contacting your local police station. I ended up getting a fingerprint kit together and done it myself - so if anyone is looking for it to be done, give me a shout.

are you still able to do this?
I am in desperate need for fingerprints please?
thanks

The website mentioned is still active if you are in Scotland. However, I would check with your local police station first as they may have the facility to do it for free (I managed this a few years ago).
