URGENT: Outland app was sent INLAND

need some help/advice on what do to do. I applied via outland on January 19th 2015 or so i thought..... I got an AOR letter stating an application number but no UCI back on the 13th of March. Called to CIC call centre multiple times within the past 2 days and every agent has told me my application was applied via INLAND!!!!. I called my immigration representative who i should not have used to see if the application was sent outland or inland( i told her multiple times i do not want it inland). She stated that it was indeed sent outland, i have asked for a copy of the application she has sent which i have yet to receive to confirm if indeed it was infact sent outland. Let say this is a mistake on CIC and they placed my outland app to the inland pile , what are the necessary steps i need to take to rectify this problem. and would i have to restart over( meaning i would be part of the march queue not january) However if my app was indeed sent inland, i really do not want to restart over, can I submit an OWP request right now and when would i be approved say if i were to be approved? Any insights would be great. Thanks!

The application forms are different and the addresses to which the applications need to be mailed to are different. Check the copies of your forms and if they are the ones listed on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp your application is Outland. If instead the forms are the ones listed on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp your application is Inland.

if you sent in an outland application (and can verify this by looking at your copy), then your next step is to contact the sponsor's mp and ask them to intervene for you.

if you sent in an inland application to the outland address, it doesn't make it an outland application. if this is what happened, then you need to either stick with inland (not recommended) or withdraw and resubmit outland.

your first step is to confirm the type of application you submitted by looking at the forms you filled out. then you can take the appropriate actions.

Call CIC and confirm what's up. And have the sponsor triple-check their email inbox and spam folder for any emails from CIC.

I sent my app Outland in Dec 2014, and then this happened.

There are other people who received the same email from CIC around the same time, so it might be that.

that is your call to make. i do not recommend applying inland as a us citizen just for the owp permit. we still don't know how long it takes. go to the inland applicant threads and ask there how many people are still waiting. we really won't have much of an idea until 4 months have passed since the program was created. that date is april 22. i *think* those who have gotten approved for owp under the pilot program applied for PR in 2013 or prior to the start date of the pilot program. again, the inland threads will be able to verify this information.

I sent my app Outland in Dec 2014, and then this happened.

There are other people who received the same email from CIC around the same time, so it might be that.

Yea what i noticed in the aor it states " you will receive further correspondence once your application is under review by an agent. Passports for yourself and your family members must be valid for the duration of your stay in Canada" which freaked me out because if it was an outland app why would they write the last statement. Lets hope its an error and I get SA pretty soon. I got AOR on March 13th and I'm reading some Jan applicants are getting AOR in mere days, its almost 2 weeks....

If all the forms were outland forms, then the package will be returned if filed inland because it doesn't have the right forms in it - the inland and outland packages are not identical.

Right, i am waiting for verification from my immigration consultant which i will say again do not ever use to see if it was infact filled outland, i already contact(sent an email to my sponsor's MP) to have them assist me. Thanks for all the insights. appreciate the help.

However did not receive a SA so I called my MP in Oct and they called CIC and found out that they had my app in the inland so my MP said this app is definitely outland as her husband is in Cuba It took until Dec to get it to outland and then receive my SA and Jan to have it transferred to Havana The incompedant CIC person should be fired in my opinion for not seeing in bold print on every envolope that I sent it said outland.

would your MP able to verify the documents that were sent were outland cause those call centre agents are incompetent, i specifically asked if he could tell if my file has been opened to see if the outland guide was included to verify if it indeed was outland and he wouldn't answer me.

this happened to me too, but my file was returned unprocessed! my immigration lawyer resent the same application stating the issues and asked for speedy process! he calls everyday to chase this for me! can i ask who your lawyer was?

Shabnam Akrami, I called CIC again, this time they are stating they put an inquiry into CPC-M to see if it was infact sent outland or inland, as it is showing on their screen as inland and outland. Seems like CIC needs to hire competent people, how the hell do you throw an outland app into the inland pile.....
