Hi Everyone,

I have doubts how to answer question 5., 6. on the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form of my application form for sponsorship outland.(through London visa office)

On the other form APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENT I put Ireland as my country of residence as a I am an Irish permanent resident, but currently I am in Canada for 6 months without visa as I am from a visa -exempt country.
Should I say my current country of residence is Canada and my status is temporary resident (even if I am from a visa exempt country) and explain my situation on an additional sheet of paper or put my Irish address of it?

I would very appreciate if someone could give me a quick answer.

Thanks and have a nice evening guys!

Putting your Canadian address is fine. An attached note with a photocopy of your visitor record/passport stamp would work perfectly. :)
It is not uncommon to see spouses "visiting" (living) in Canada on visitor visas.

Good luck!

Sorry but I would disagree. In question 5, I would put Ireland as your country of residence. You're technically not a resident of Canada -- you're a visitor/tourist in Canada. You're still a resident of Ireland. It's on the application for permanent residence where you could potentially list your Canadian address as your mailing address and your Irish address as your residential address.

If you are applying Outland, I believe you have to give an Irish address as your residential address. You don't have to be living there at the time of application but it must be a genuine address that CIC can mail you.

I agree with the other posters who say to put an Ireland address- you are visiting Canada. Not taking up residence there - yet.

well you are a visitor to Canada. i would say only if you were staying there for more than a year then you could use that address but in this case use Ireland. you should not have any problems getting your sponsorship as you are from a visa exempt country and Europeans are getting through pretty quickly.

Thanks a lot Guys,

I will use Ireland as a current residential and residential address too as 6 months are not that long enough to say I am residing here.
Tomorrow morning I will check out all the forms, attachments and so on ...than hopefully we will post it tomorrow.
It`s a bit scary we have 111 pages of additional pages (bills, joined bank accounts, health insurance and so on).

It will be a huge pack to send.
I am so glad we get rid of the sponsorship forms, but worried a bit to have everything attached and filled in correctly. It` s the 3rd time I check them today.
I know I will do the same tomorrow....

Good luck for you too Guys and thanks for your help.
