Upfront Medical for Dependent after ITA - What Type??

Dear All,

Please advise what "Upfront Medical Type" did you select for your Dependent applicant ? It is Family or Visitor?

This is really urgent?As my dependent wife had undergone medical and the clinic selected the value as "Family-EDE".. Is it right?

It's Family-EDE for my wife and me. I called the physicians office and they said it's the appropriate one. But fingers crossed!!!

I am wondering if "Family-EDE" is the appropriate category as it is mentioned in the "Panel Member Handbook" link of CIC that EDE category is only for

Note: EDE clients include refugees, refugee claimants and certain family classes and individuals with protected person status.

Even more confused with all the information on the upfront medicals, my husband and I had non-ede, while my son had family-ede.

The response I got from the physician (in Montreal) is
They keep it Family-EDE for fall the PR applicants
Worker for people who apply for a work permit
Visitor of people applying for TEmporary resident Visa
student for who applying for a student permit

I am not sure thought whether the tests I have gone through is appropriate or inappropriate!!!
I still haven't heard anything about my medical tests.

Freaking out now.... Myself and the family are NON EDE. However, myself and the kids are Visitors while Souse is Student.

I guess we all have to wait and get a positive feedback from CIC. I used same medical to get OWP recently so...fingers crossed.

Don't worry about category in Upfront medical. There are enough cases on the forum for people who had EDE and Non-EDE who have medical passed status. Should the VO have any doubt they will come back to you.

For EE majority of the clinics have been using Family-EDE category.

so i submitted my CEC application 2-3 weeks back. I got a cancellation message from cic that my application is not complete
They mentioned:

Specifically, your application does not include the following elements:
- Upfront medical report
- Invalid medical as medical has been assessed for Temporary residence only


So the medical test i got done in toronto for me and my wife have below details:
IME type: Non - EDE
Upfront medical type - worker

Me and my wife had same status on our information sheet we submitted as proof.


I do not understand the reason they would cancel? is it because my medical type was worker?

I am applying under the FSW express entry program and I chose 'worker' for category. I didn't know what else to choose, nor did the nurse. I hope it is correct.

Did my medical in Belgrade in April... Physician never heard of Express Entry, and he selected Non-EDE/Worker for me, my wife and my 1.5y old son...

I can now see rejections for that specific category, and I am getting nervous... have 30 more days on my second ITA, and need to clear this mess ASAP...

Has anyone from inside Canada called CIC office and get confirmation? My physician is positive that medical type is irrelevant since it is same medical exam (501, 502,707, 712)...

Can you please tell us the components of the medical exam in your upfront medical information sheet? E.g. HIV, Chest X-Ray etc.

Can you please write down all the components of your Upfront Medical Exam in exact way they are written on your printout sheet?
