Under-incomed sponsor

My husband lives in central america and I am pregnant. The baby is due in april, the same month that I complete my undergraduate degree. I cannot work for the first three months of the babies life due to daycare availability in my city. Because I have been a student, my income has been around 12-14k every year. However, I plan on searching for a career in September, but, during the sponsorship period I will be unemployed.

What are the chances of me getting approved to sponsor my husband for permanent residency this summer?

I have heard mixed things: I am pretty sure it mentions on the canadian immigration official website something about needing to earn over 20k a year to sponsor 1 person, but I have no clue if a spouse is included in that, which I have heard from testimonials (after all, the idea is that there will be a combined work effort).

There is no income requirement for spousal sponsorships. As long as you are no in bankrucy, or in receipt of social assistance you are fine.

The 20K requirement is to sponsor other family members. If you are sponsoring a spouse, you don't need to meet any income level. But you cannot be on welfare when you apply.
