Hi,
I have a family friend who's in the UK with her husband and 2 year old son, she first came to the United Kingdom on a student visa nearly 5 years ago with her husband, three year's later, she had a baby boy who is now 2 years old. She still take's online courses, but her file has been recommended an interview and she is worried that she will come out unsuccessful in this interview and thus be adviced to go back to her home country without an extention on her student visa. She's been adviced by some that if she can prolong her stay in which ever way until her son turns 7 years of age, her son will be automatically granted a citizenship in England and thus, easier for her & her husband to become citizens as well.
My question is: Is the advice given to my family friend in the above senario a fact? It is possible for her to become a citizen as well when her son turns 7 years of age in the UK? Please let me know. Thank you.
