Read the update on the vfs website, it says processing and return will be delayed.
But the submission is suspended

And also, they would not want to sit on the passports that are already there, no one would want that to take care of passports for no reasons if counterfoil is already generated

During last Covid lockdown passports were held by New Delhi Visa Office for Months... When it says "delayed" means that due to them not working during this curfew the overall process time will be delayed. Don't expect them to be working when they say there offices are closed. They were hardly working with reduced staff when it was all open..

In the passport request letter it is mentioned that we need to submit the passport within 30 days.
As the service got suspended, do we need to send any email to them?

When you say got counterfoil.. do you mean in their gc key account or passport moved from ircc office to vac?

Did anyone try to call IRCC in Canada today to check the status online?
I called twice & it just says one line that app was received on this date & then try to transfer to an agent. It does not give complete application status as did in past.

Congratulations!! When did your passport reach IRCC?

Passport reached IRCC on April 1st,
counterfoil generated on 16th,
dispatched to VFS on 19th,
courier update on 21st,
Passport delivered in hand on April 22nd morning,
I think we narrowly survived from passport submission and dispatch suspension!!!
Our flight is on 25th from Delhi to Toronto, Now countdown begins, Hope to survive from local lockdowns and India Travel ban to Canada!!

Direct flights banned from tonight for 30 days

Canada has banned all flights from India for next 30 days.

All direct commercial and private passenger flights from India and Pakistan will be included in the ban, although cargo flights will still be permitted.

As well, passengers flying to Canada from India and Pakistan via an indirect route will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test taken at their last point of departure.
