I am currently in the same situation but they have not asked for my passport yet. I submitted my application on the 18th no updated since. I have to leave next week as i have family member who is very ill. Can i start an application from outside Canada?

thank you for your timeline. I just copy my flight ticket and added an explanation letter with the passport together. Because I just travel to another country. I don't know if they can do my case as soon as possible. My passport arrived the same day as your passport.

Keep on bugging them! Call them and tell them your situation. Worked for me! Canada Post Xpresspost also takes several days, unlike the guaranteed 1 day delivery, so I had to bug them too!

Hi Jerbear, when your tracking get activated, was it late at night since Canada post collect and process everything at the end of the day? My status just changed from submitted to approved, today Dec 6th. I don't know how soon will my tracker get activated.

wow, the process was very quick for you. I applied on Nov 10. my passport received on Nov 24. My status does not change right now.

and I should finish my work over there

no, I just had a travel plan during Christmas holiday. I added my flight ticket. But I think it doesn't work.
