Hi there,

I apologize in case similar questions were answered before. I did a search but all I found were related to spouse or child, not parents.

Basically, I submitted a sponsorship app to CIC-M for my parents last July. My own income is about 60K+ with a major company, single, no kids. Therefore I believe it will get approved eventually. But based on currrent timeline, it wont get processed for at least 2- 3 years.

I want to invite my parents over from China this summer for 1 months, visiting banff/jasper etc with no intention to overstay. Both my parents have decent jobs overseas. My mother visited Canada once before plus many countries in Europe, Asia etc.

So what is the likelyhood their TRV will get approved? Anybody has similar expereience? If rejected, will this affect the PRV in the future? Of course, I will include a letter explaining that while there is an sponsorship app in progress, for the purpose of this TRV it is just for a short vacation.

Your input is highly appreciated.

No, this will not affect the PR application whether it is approved or rejected, so feel free to apply. The fees are not that great and you might get it :)

When applying, be sure to show everything that your parents have to return to - evidence of their jobs, property owned/rented,... Having a child in Canada is not as great a tie as having a spouse there, so I think you should be able to get the visas. Just an opinion though, I don't have any personal experience with it.

Well having a good travel history and good stable jobs in their country can help their application. And attaching a letter explaining precisely what you explained could help too.
