Biometrics status: Valid for 10 years
Purpose of TRV: To visit spouse who is a PR

If your spouse is PR, why haven’t you applied for spousal sponsorship. That would be the best path. If you receive refusal, it is because your wife is PR and officers may think you are coming permanently.

Yes you are very correct. We wedded just last month and she will be returning back to Canada this January. I look towards applying for PR next month, but hope to get the TRV before then. I am just looking at being lucky for the TRV.

As it is at the moment, TRV isn't so sure. I got married December last year and applied for TRV instead of startingy spousal application immediately. Sadly covid came and my application took longer than normal and it still came as a refusal. I eventually submitted my spousal application in July and reapplied for TRV in September. And till date, I haven't heard anything but I am so positive and hopeful. So I would advise you start your spousal application asap and keep hope alive for your TRV. Processing time for TRV from Nigeria is about 6 to 8 months now, so you really need to be patient .

Background check is processing, eligibility review nothing yet..
