TRV application approved, stamping country change

Hi all,

I submitted my father's TRV application in India which after 5-6 months of processing, recently got approved. He had submitted his biometrics in Bangalore. We waited for few months for the decision, however due to Covid, the processing was obviously delayed.

In the meantime, since conditions were favourable for brief period, my father traveled to USA to stay with my sibling. Due to his age and on-going covid, he doesn't plan to return to India for next few months and there is a deadline of 30 days to submit the passport for visa stamping.

Any suggestion what can we do? Is it possible to get the visa stamped in USA, although the application was submitted in India.

Also I wanted to know if anyone has faced similar situation and what have they done.

Yes you can ask for stamping to be done in the US.

@canuck78 ...how can we do that? Do we need to do webform? Call and/or email IRCC?

I have got a letter from IRCC regarding submission of passport to VAC which we need to include with the passport, when using two way courier service. Besides that, what other document will we need for changing the passport stamping location?

Kindly suggest.... we have very limited time (30 days) before which we need to send passport.

Hello.....Update from my side is that we received my father's passport today with TRV stamped on the passport. To summarize, we were able to submit the passport in the USA for TRV stamping even when the TRV was approved in India and biometrics were submitted in India, and the visa was stamped in the USA.
