Hi all.

I see some applicants getting MR a few days after AOR while others not getting the MR only AOR. Why is that?

If the applicant is not in Canada (ie visa office is outside Canad), who sends the Medicdal request? CIO or the respective visa office?

Thank you

Can anyone log onto Ecas yet?
Hi lahorimunda
I was able to check application status on the phone service of CIC call centre (for in-Canada applicants).
I logged in to ecas too, the status is updated to "Application received"

Good to know that you can log onto Ecas. I haven't recieved any correspondence from CIC and my CC was charged on Nov 19th. May be because I have my spouse on my application, which might be causing the delay. I hope I get something soon.

Does anybody know if there is a recommended time by CIC after which you can call and check the status of the application. I want to check the status because I have had problems with emails before. My email address ends with ".ca" and I have had this happen to me before that people send emails to the ".com" address.

Email is part of a barcoded form, whatever you type they will scan it to their system. they do not manually type it everytime they need to email you.

If that is the case then how come some people have issues getting emails. I have read on this forum that people did not get AOR email but got MR and found out that their AOR was sent to the wrong address by CIC.

I hope that they do the scan thing. I will find out for sure. Thanks for the information.

I haven't received my AOR since it was delivered to CIO last 11 October 2012. Different scenarios are running in my head right now. At first, I assumed my application is being returned due to probably some errors on the form when I filled them out. I went to the post office today and no post mail for me. Or it could be that post delivery time takes longer than a month. Second, came in the thought of the probability that it could have been misplaced somewhere in CIO. (Well, you can't blame a man who is anxious and desperate to get his AOR. Result is paranoia. lol )

Then I read about an alleged AOR sent to a different e-mail. Are there really cases where CIO sent AOR/s to the wrong e-mail address? My e-mail address have "rn", those are letters "r" and "n". What if they have in their database for my e-mail is letter "m" like Mary, instead of "rn"? Looks quite similar to me, "rn" and "m".

But, I am sure I completed the form with my correct e-mail address. About the scanning stuff they do on the barcodes, how does it work? When they scan it, all the information I supplied will come out in their screen and saved? Is it the reason that we do the validation when we fill-out the forms (IMM 0008)?

Hi pangandoy,

I just looked at your time line on Oct spread sheet and noticed that CIO not yet en-cashed your draft/credit card. There are two applicants (one is on 18 Oct and another is on 31 Oct) who's fees have been en-cashed.

Have you included your actual birth certificate, which you got at the time of your birth?

Have you included your fees in Canadian currency or any other currency? Just double check the check list so that you will know just in case if you made any mistake or missed to attach any document.

The probability of misplacing your application at CIO is very less, because I believe they have proper processes to keep each and every application at appropriate location.

In case if your application is NOT complete, it takes about 2 weeks to receive your package at your address. CIO has returned my application two times it took 2 weeks.

Still, I hope you get your AOR as it's not even two months from the date your application was received at CIO. All the best.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
