@ DCCMJ, Khan78, @ sarayu;

Sent additional docs that LVO asked for last week.

For FBI certificate, sent request to FBI.... Keeping fingers crossed that I get it in 3-4 weeks...

Let's hope LVO moves to next step ...ie medicals...

Does anyone have an idea whether police certificates/background checks are done after medicals for before???

Zizu

Hey zizu,

Good to see your post...in fact I was about to inquire about your progress today. Have you done finger prints at your local police station in Pakistan? I don't see any issue in getting FBI certificate for you...except time. You should be getting it in max 3-4 weeks. But did you send LVO a cover letter saying that you have applied for your FBI certificate???...and did you add any proof that shows you applied for it?

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hey Philfresh, Babakura, Sarayu,

Philfresh - I hope your friend is right. Lets see what happens next. From my understanding, the security checks are not dependent on the PCC's, its done by an independent agency.

This is source :

Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.

Hi kia99,

Thanks a lot for the details info. Yes, I have heard the same from my representative too. Below pasted my representative's email (red in color).

If you would like to apply for new clearances you may do so. The visa office may request new ones, but they may not. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, but you are welcome to apply for them again and we will submit them as soon as you receive them.

Let's hope for the best and wait and see.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

They need originals. If you did send originals by post last week then maybe they didn't reach relevant person before your last email was sent?

Hey Andrew,

I sent the originals, they acknowledged my email stating that they received the covering letter and the two PCC's last week. I sent them the acknowledgement email they sent me and also gave them the tracking number details too. Hopefully they find it. Else I have extra copies just incase.

Thanks

Hi,

I have a question, are you not supposed to send PCC's only for countries you have stayed for 6 months or more? Anything less than that, no PCC required right? Also which form is the personal history form?

Thanks n advance

Hi kia99,

First of all Congratulations buddy. If they are asking for RPRF means, they are almost done processing your file.

Yes, you need to send the PCCs only for the countries where you and your family members lived for more than 6 months.

Coming to your personal history, it's Schedule A - Background Declaration form (IMM 5669)....page number 2....take a look at the question number 8 which is Personal History...I am an AINP-H1B applicant and looking at my forms right now....hope it should be the same for you as well as you also a PNP applicant. If your personal history is too long and can't fit in the space provided in the application, then you just create one Word document yourself or an Excel document also OK.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks Sarayu,

I will update that form and send it, I confused it with travel form. The reason I asked about the PCC was they have asked for my spouses PCC for shanghai and she lived there for 5 months. Just paid the RPRF fees.

Thanks
