Hi Friends,

My wife got her PR (Visa stamped) in India at Chandigarh Visa office and I have sent my passport to Ottawa for PR visa.

Visa officer from Ottawa called me on Friday (14th June) and he facilitated all the process. He told me he will coordinate with Chandigarh Visa office to get pr for my wife so that we dnt have to bother to bring her passport here. He told me to send my passport to Ottawa and I will get it back in 3 weeks.

I have to land first as principal applicant and only then my wife can come to Canada.

Do you know how long it takes for CPP-Ottawa to reply to a status request? My representative sent an email to CPP-Ottawa on July 3 requesting for the status of my application. I don't know how many days they take to respond back. Appreciate if somebody can let me know how long it takes.

Hi Aman i had a chat with him....actually his case was complicated as he applied for his wife's open work permit in chandigarh but after a month or so he got his PPR so he contacted chandigarh visa office to withdraw his wife's passport but when asked why he wanted to withdraw the passport he told them the whole situation then the chandigarh visa officer contacted with ottawa and told him that the officer from ottawa would contact him regarding the case and then the visa officer from ottawa contacted him and told him that he will co-ordinate with the chandigarh visa office to facilitate the visa for his wife at the chandigarh visa office itself. This is how his contact with the visa officer happened by luck. Otherwise its almost impossible to contact a visa officer by your own choice.

Hi sarayu.....they took atleast 20-25 days to reply me back on two occassions.

When my consultant emailed them, they replied back the next day. I was surprised too. I asked him to forward me the email.
