I renewed my temporary work permit this fall using my nomination letter. As long as you explain that your PR is in process they will be okay. But let's hope that soon you don't need to even consider that.

Nope. The nomination certificate is considered the same as an LMO in that respect. I called to check when I was about to apply for extension, and was told nomination certificate could be used in place of LMO. By the way, I found the online application process way easier than the paper version.

They have altered the log-on process since I registered, but I believe this is the portal.

I think you need to scan in your contract and passport from what I remember, and you can pay online as well. The process is a step by step walk through, with guidance notes for each question. I know a friend used it recently, and said it seemed a lot easier than the paper application process.

It says receipt of application, so possibly could be from AOR.

it asked how long I wanted to extend my stay for is 2 years unreasonable, also it is very easy ... just logged in and had a trial run. need to get my new passport first it expires in June 2013 along with my permit, sin and drivers license not a good place to be lol! Need to apply long before that happens to give me a safety net. Thanks for the info.

Guys, today I have received AOR from my VO office and stated that due to high volume if files, they may not b able to process for 6 months so I m nog required to do n e follow ups till than. Is this common statement ? I thought our case is in fast track mode... But again same ans as it was in 2006 year.


Is this same statements they write in AOR from local office?

2.53 For permanent residence cases, we noted that there was a formal agreement on service standards in the 2006 memorandum of understanding between CIC and the CBSA, which stated that advice will be provided to visa officers within 9 to 18 months. Through our file review, we found that the CBSA had completed its analysis in less than 9 months in 67 percent of the cases and exceeded 18 months in 19 percent of the cases.

2.54 We also reviewed a sample of 10 percent of the 72 permanent residence cases analyzed by the CBSA after CSIS had completed its review for national security concerns. In the cases we examined, we found that CSIS took an average of 34 months to provide its results to the CBSA when there was information requiring further investigation. We noted that the CBSA concurred with the advice provided by CSIS but, on average, it took an additional 9 months to send the advice to the visa officer without adding specific details about the individual.

Great stuff, I have been in PEI for 17 months but our applications have a very close timeline ... do you have dependants? I am without dependants. (I don't think the 2 dogs and cat count lol)

When you applied for PNP to CIC did you send an up to date UK police certificate? I sent the one that I used when I originally landed for TWP and they accepted this for my PNP application in province as it was within a year of issue ... so obviously it is now out of date and was thinking maybe get a new one so there is no hold ups what do you think?

Yeah, timelines are very close. I submitted a new police certificate, since I didn't need one for my temporary visas. I have a dependent so my process may take a little longer than yours.

I would have thought that things like dates on certificates etc are checked at AOR. But who knows... The AOR email certainly says that the application is considered complete, whatever that really means!

Medical Request, RPRF, additional docs request: Nov 2012

This week I have received medical request, RPRF request and they have also asked me to write a letter stating how i will economically establish myself in canada? Are there any points i need to focus on when writing this letter, any advice?
