Yes I did. If you are in Canada applicant and were already working with Temporary SIN you can get permanent one based on your stamped/signed(after landing) COPR.

Hey thanks Kijo. I will apply it then..was confused because of the below line on CIC...

Permanent Resident Card issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. This is the only acceptable document if your claim was processed in Canada.
Confirmation of Permanent Residence AND visa counterfoil affixed to a foreign passport or a travel document

I got mine and my wife's updated the next monday after we landed.

You only need your Signed CoPR's and your passports with you.

Good luck!

This only applies for those applicants who cannot land at a border crossing and who choose to make an appointment at a cic office in Canada to complete the landing process. In your case you left Canada and at the port if entry was granted pr status after which you were admitted into Canada.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for clarifying.

Hello folks -

I havent received one, but heard of other PNP applicants receiving RCMP request. So would like to know, whether it is a common practice by CIC to request RCMP check from PNP applicants - i know CEC category applicants do that, but i am skeptical of this for PNP applicants? CONFUSED .... can someone help me !!!

It is not a common practice and you should not do it unless asked.

Does anyone know why QSW applicants seem to get processed slower than PNP? QSW is effectively a PNP programme yet those of us who applied in February and received AOR in April are still waiting but most of the people on here in that situation got their PR months ago. I just wondered if it was an internal politics thing? Seems unfair in any case!

I thought its the opposite - QSW are processed quicker than PNP, although they are equivalent - there are couple of guys in April 2013 PNP thread who got PR via QSW - their time line seems pretty quicker than fellow PNP applicants - i know i am not giving you any answer, but just in case, talking to them may help you understand your case.

Hi guys
Need some advice for my PNP application. Basically I got nominated for SINP in July 2013 and applied to CIC in Aug 2013. I got a medical request letter in Oct 2013 and got my medical done in Nov 2013. The CIC got my medical results in Nov 2013. I filed an ATIP with CIC in Dec 2013 and got my GCMS notes in Jan 2014. I see the police clearance is done and the medicals are cleared. I am surprised to see that my application status shows "application received". Shouldn't it change to "in process" after a month or so of receiving the medical results? Kinda concerned.
