hello everyone.

just checked my Email. CEM requested for my passport , need to send it within 30 days. I did not expect it to be this fast, I haven't ecas not until now. Ecas was in progress June 10, PPR June 14.

It seems like I need to tell my boss now so that they won't send me to UK anymore for a training..

Congratulations to those who have got PPR or "In Process" Status. Hope everybody gets there soon.

Meanwhile, I have a question for everyone

My wife lives in India and we are planning for her to move to Canada, once our file goes through in the Ottawa office. Now, the day we get out Passport request, would she be able to apply for a visitor visa and come submit her passport here for PR? I know according to laws in India, one can not courier his/her passport outside country. I am very scared about the fact that she might get her visa rejected and it could be impossible for us to submit the passport in time. Could someone suggest a better way? I am trying to apply for her visa right now but this situation might arise if this visa is rejected. Please see that I have MPNP nomination letter and a NOC 6221 Category B job. Please advice.

Alert – Strike Action
The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.

Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

I am also surprised on how my timeline went..I was not expecting it considering I cannot leave my country yet because of my sister's wedding on December.

Aman,

(a.) She is eligible to apply for visa as of 'anyday' and I don't see any reason why it may be rejected ? Specially when her spouse is in Canada. Also, based on your visa she should be eligible to get a open work permit visa too.
(b.) The only other way to send passport is if someone is travelling in person.

Check with them (CEM) to get the best advise... don't believe it should be an issue though but you should notify them & take consent.
