Tracking PNP Feb 2013 applications to CIO Nova Scotia

Hello All Seniors,

I applied for immigration within Canada under AINP. My timeline can be seen on spread sheet. I am visiting my home country Pakistan now a days and I got medical call. I am now confused that should I do my medical here in Pakistan or wait another month when I go back to Canada and do medical there? Does it make any difference? Will it effect the processing time?

Secondly, I am trying to call CIC call centre to ask same question but that number 1888-242-2100 is not working from Pakistan. Does anybody know any phone number which work from Pakistan.

If I was in your shoes, I will wait and do the medicals on my return to Canada. It is always easy to deal with things from your usual base!!!

I believe you have 30 days to do your medical from the day you receive it. I am not sure if this time limit thing still applies. I was in the same boat, I got medical request when I was travelling in home country and I did it after I came back to Canada.

Landed? : Already in Canada


I have a question to everyone: Someone told me that after medical is submitted, CIC does background check of the applicant and dependents. Now, I had my wife added as a dependent, and she currently resides in India (she did her medical on April 15th 2013). My question is "can her background check delay my application cuz she is in india?" Also How long does it usually take to get PP Request after med received? I asked a lawyer and she told me that it can take 10 months for this process? is it true?

Please help!!

Welcome Aman, your details have been updated.

My question is "can her background check delay my application cuz she is in india? - No, background check is independent of location and is carried out in centralized manner. So assuming you were in India too before coming here - your credentials will be verified for all countries.

Also How long does it usually take to get PP Request after med received? I asked a lawyer and she told me that it can take 10 months for this process? is it true? - No one including CIC can give you a definite answer on this. It varies from case to case basis but based on PNP cases in earlier months the trend has been 3 to 6 months for CPP-O if the security/background check comes out clear.

hi,

pls update my timeline my visa office is not manila it's abu dhabi. mostly if the visa office is manila you will receive medical request 1 month after you receive acknowledgement from CIO. For me its been 2 mos already so i tried to email manila VO to asked them. i told them maybe they sent already and i didnt receive thru email or post office misplaced or lost it.
manila VO replied they are not the one processing my application its abu dhabi VO.

anybody who can give me idea how many mos before they send MR? i been waiting more than 2 mos already
