I was on vacation and just returned back. Was unable to keep the forum updated.

AOR- 30 JUL
In Process - 14 Aug

Now I need some help. I only received the AOR through email and no postal mail. Is it normal?

Do I need to inform CIC that I went on a vacation and came back?

AOR received on Aug 28th - phew we were starting to worry since we hadn't gotten the application returned nor had we received the AOR. At least now we know they have it - I've update the spreadsheet

You need to let CIC know you are going on vacation before you go but in your case as you just went to In Process you don't need to inform them at this stage. You only get AoR via email.

If you leave on vacation for more than Two Weeks in a row is when you should inform CIC. Following thread for reference :

Hello everyone, thank you all for the fantastic work you do here. I have been a silent observer since I registered on here & this forum has been a great reference point for me. I fulfilled 1095 days of physical presence on the 10 of June 2015.

Here's my timeline below:

App Sent: 8 June 2015 from Calgary via UPS
App Received: 10 June 2015
AOR Received : 6 Aug 2015 by POSTAL MAIL

I received my AOR in my mail box about 2 weeks after the letter was dated. My ECAS was active at about the time the letter was dated but I was clueless as to where my AOR was because I didn't get the email and my ECAS just had (still has) '1. We received your.....'

Yes I had the same issue. Observed that it was changed 2 days back.

It basically affected almost all applicants. It has nothing to do with the citizenship application, however, CIC decided to pull the PR info off ECAS because such applications are determined to be non-active anymore.

I had similar issue, but my PR application disappeared after my Citizenship application in process. Probably, your application is near in process.

It's normal, don't worry. Same with my test invitation, only e-mail and no postal mail so you may also get only an e-mail. It's good — saves time.

I've never seen anything to the effect that we have to notify CIC of a past vacation. If you leave the country for two or more weeks during the processing, yes we have to. But in our case we went in vacation before they even acknowledged the receipt of the application so there was no way to add that to the case since at the time we didn't have a case yet (until AOR there's nothing they can do).

I left Canada in late June (way before AOR so I didn't even have a file to notify CIC) and came back after AOR.
