I came in 2007 as student. It took 4 years to get PR due to closer of Buffalo office. I am eligible on July 7, 2015.
Is there any chance of mine to apply under current rules (3 out of 4 years)

Please advise

The best advise at least I can give is to wait the real cut off date, officially confirmed.
If the Law is not enforced by your date, that means you will apply under the old rules.

Yeah, I have been in Canada since 2010. I initially came as a Student. According to the old rules, those times do count towards Citizenship.

Will go along with the already provided reply by MUFC. It better to wait for the official announcement that will be coming very soon. Am sure there are a lot of other applicants like you who got their PR delayed because of the closure of the Buffalo Office.

I became PR in March, 2013. Only out of country for 58 days since July, 2007

Oh alright, maybe you should try to recalculate it on the CIC website. Dont forget that a day is counted as half day before you became a PR.

I got this date from Car resident calculator. As time frame go forward, days are actually subtracting from my total. I need to stay double of actually required days :(

Alright. Am just a little bit surprised that I was eligible to apply before you did since you got your PR in 2012. Probably it got to do with some few trips that you might have taken outside Canada.

Sorry I thought you got PR in 2011 or 2012.You wrote you came as student in 2007 and got PR in 4 years.

Wish you are eligible before the new rule.

What is this Car residence calculator?58 days absence is before PR or after?Which date in March you got PR?

If I am in your place I will apply before the new rule.If you have 1095 basic residence(not physical) your application will go to a citizenship judge. He will determine whether you are eligible or not.You are living in Canada from 2007 and was absent only 58 days in last 8 years and you have Canadian education. You are intend to live in Canada for sure.I think no judge will reject such an application.Especially for few days difference.

I applied end of 2009, then it took long time to get PR.
Sorry, I wrote CIC, but cellphone auto pick car.... :)
