To get a visa you need to show proof of liquid funds, travel history to UK, US, NZ and AUS, purpose of visit and ties to home country (job, properties to maintain, spouse/dependant children). Just to note, you are visiting not living in Canada. CBSA decides when you enter Canada if you can stay up to 6 months. Your friend can write a letter of invitation.

Hi! I applied for a TR visa Last May 15, 2022, and completed biometrics on May 18, 2022. My eligibility check hasn't even started yet. I wonder what the update is for those who also applied from Thailand last May. Currently, the average processing time is about 97 days. And I think my application has already passed 97 days. My uncle, who owns a business there, invited me and provided an invitation letter along with other documents. I also made sure all my documents were properly completed.

All you can do is wait.

very unusual for a request for a 6 month stay to be approved.

So how do you propose to show where your 120k come from? Your friend cannot offer you to live in Vancouver, he can only send you an invitation letter.
