Tourist Visa Extension

I submitted my wife's application for permanent residency in April of 2014. She has already left Canada and came back on another tourist visa. Was hoping to just extend her tourist visa this time so she didn't have to leave again.
I checked online and it says 107 days for paper application and 88 days for online application, but it also says to apply 30 days at the latest before it expires. Seems like her tourist visa will expire before the application is actually processed.
Since her tourist visa runs out at the start of August, I need to apply asap.
Anyone know if these timelines will cause a problem?
Also, could you direct me to the forms we need to fillout?

Thanks

It says on the CIC website that if you apply to extend the visitor visa and the current visa expires, she'll be on implied status until the new visitor visa comes, so she'll be okay!

There is no requiremnt to apply 30 days ahead of time; that is just what CIC suggests. A person can apply up until their status expires.

As said above, she will have Implied Status during the time between expiry of her current status and a decision on the extension app.

Appreciate the help. Thats what I thought as well. We have been married for a couple years now so we should get an extension.

I applied online for my wife 7 days via online before it expired.

I was told its best to apply via snail mail as you get a free longer stay due to longer processing time but my record has been online applications in the last 3-4 renewals so I stuck with it.

A couple more questions for you guys.

On the application it asks for current country of residence and then status.
Since we will be applying before the 6 month mark of her stay in Canada, I would assume her country of residence is still South Korea. However there is an option to put Canada with visitor status.
What is the best way to answer this?

Also in the Proof of means of support on the checklist. Can I just write a letter that says I have a job and make x amount of money and how much money I have in the bank or do I need to submit actual bank records to show this? I was also going to get my parents to write a letter that says they will provide support if need be.

Thanks again

Current country of residence: I put in as Canada and it should be that because that where she is currently residing hence u asking for the extension! Letter from you, your employment letter from your employer, pay-slips and bank statements are the ideal documents!
