Hello All,

We booked our ticket to Toronto from Brithish Airways for 6 May 2011.

We visited the Scotia branch today & submitted the application form as well.

Thanks everyone for your kind support.

how much is the ticket for

Ticket Cost 1.06L for 2 Adults + 1 Child below 11 Years

I got letter for medical, RPRF and PPR. My question is that they asked to submit 5 photographs and a negative. I have photos that I have submitted with my apllication in month of september and I have a negative of same photo. So is it eligible or not because it is more than 6 months old or I have to take new photoes and negative of same?

ask your DMP, normally now days they don't need a negative.
better to take new photographs .

@ CBI : Can you pls reconfirm the ticketing cost... I just checked BA website today (04-Apr-11) & it throws up INR 2.44 Lac for 2 adult+1 child below 11 yrs. Thanks.
PS

CBI / Others : Sorry for my previous mail, but I realize the fares are One-way & return for you and me, respectively.
Have a safe, good journey & all the best for settling down.
PS

Ankit,

One doubt, If we go for one time wireless transfer of funds via any of banks, will this amount come under income tax in canada, i.e. will it be taxable from the day it get transferred to the Candaian account??

Pls share ur views

thanks Ankit and CBI for answering my query on locker opening at scotia bank!

This money is not earned in Canada and is already tax paid money in India so there is no reason for it be taxed. I am not sure 100% but I believe it would not be taxable in Canada

there will be no income tax on no matter how much you transfer one penny or one million. however you might have to answer authorities back home in India

never heard of anybody asking that , it doesn't come under their preview of normal query questions, unless and until tax department has asked them to do so .

when are you flying out, have you transferred money to scotia bank ? did you recieved any paper's home apart from welcoming e-mail ?

Hi Jassi,

I haven't received any papers except the email.

I have not transfered the fund but I got the TC. which can be deposited in our account in Canada. & no charges will apply & will be credited to our account immediately.

In 2004 a law was made that all Indian Citizens should carry their ITR or pan card to be produced at the airport if asked for while travelling out of India.

It is a little Known law and was strictly followed for 3 months where at random travelers ( not everyone) were asked to give their Pan No at Customs.

Some how this fumed out over time and lost its importance however a receipt of the Money you carry should be carried with you to avoid
in convenience

Un receipted money will call for trouble

do not carry more than 25000 INR in case you want to carry rupees thats the limit
