Jan 2014 - submitted application
June 2014 - received acknowledgement that my application has been received by CIC
March 2016 - received a letter requesting for additional documents (Notice of Assessment for past 3 years, etc.)
May 2016 - received Sponsorship Eligibility Decision (PASSED !). Applicant's documents forwarded to CPC-Ottawa for further processing.

Good luck to everyone !

Thank you, that is very helpful! Quick question though, did they asked for you NOA again for 2012-15? Or did you not submit it for 2011-13 with your original application?

Will CIC be contacting my mum, should she put her cell on roaming, when travelling?

Hi Folks,

I also applied for my mum and got the CIC AOR email this month. Very thankful that our applications have been accepted, last year I did not make the 5k limit.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea – is it possible for CIC to contact my mum through phone call? She will be travelling to Canada for a few months, during that period does she need to put her cell on roaming? She can only speak a little English anyway. She is 75 yrs old and afraid to put her cell on roaming and get an unexpected high phone charge.

Any thoughts on this would help. Thanks so much.

Correspondence is sent via regular mail or email (if email ID was provided).
Your mum does not need to put her cell on roaming.

As the previous poster said, CIC would never call you mom directly.
Also, there likely wont be any correspondence for many months if not a couple of years. Entire 2015 batch and half of 2014 are still in the early stages of processing!

Hi All, Experts in the Thread,

I applied in January and my application was delivered at approx. 8.50 pm.

My credit card was charged but I have not heard anything not even a single email. I am not starting to worry.

Is that normal?
What are my options?
Are there any other applicants in the same state?

I want to at least have the acknowledgement. Please tell me my options?

Thanks,

If your credit card was charged, you are fine. They will eventually send an email out. A lot of people have not gotten their AOR yet according to the spreadsheet. No need to worry.

8.50 am Jan 4, 2016 (the first day office opened)

CC was charged in Jan 2016 but no news as off yet.

Does this mean I mean perhaps last in the 2016 lot?

What are my options other than just waiting?

Thank you.

That means you are in the starting batch. Check you spam folders.
You could try calling the call centre and ask them really nicely. If you are lucky, you will get some info although chances are slim.

Why dont you try using your Client ID to check the online status. That should be accessible.
