I wasn't getting accurate answers on chat. Call them maybe? I was told over the phone. It doesn't make much sense that the driver has been waiting there for 5 hours.

what else can the driver do?
Balking
Brawling with Happy Road

I saw it with my own eyes guys.. I was shocked.. I had asked my guy to line up at 5 thinking this would be enough but didn't seem so..the sad part was that each courier had a guy in line and other drivers on the road(from that courier) were coming and giving them packets(late/overnight shipments)..

You are mostly correct, buddy. But I'd like to give you good news. I have a friend working at Happy RoadEx, confirmed that they delivered less then 1000. You've probably measured the packages by eyes. If your guy were ranked #11, you should make it in 5000. And my friend told VW was ranked at #4, so everyone with them should be accepted as well.
I highly doubt ups/fedex/purolator could make it this year, unless they have a special arrangement for this.

I dont think you have to attach any 2015 income proofs. They will ask when and if they need it.. they know that CRA doesnt provide anything this early in the year. I mentioned my 2015 income but didnt provide any proof... salary slips etc are not acceptable to them.. the only thing they will accept it a letter from CRA and that you wont have now for 2015.

I am also pretty sure that purolator customer care is just having fun with you guys with that 700 application question. I sent my application through purolator same day at 9 am and it was delivered at 12 pm. Considering that 700 application driver was there before my courier, there is no way he is still standing in the line... so relax. the status is probably not updated. Also, even if the app makes in today at any time.. there is no guarantee that it will be accepted so why bother. Someone else also pointed out that there is a P.O box too and god knows how many applications are in it.

PO box doesn't matter here... whoever sent it to PO box address won't get into cap... I'm saying this bcoz some guy here said he sent the app to po box address last year and now again trying with courier address.

All waybills are not timed. Maybe CIC will drawing for all first day apps via lottery...Who knows?

hello avi_15, do you feel they are delivering 2000 applications or HappyRoad is actually telling you they are having 2000 apps to drop off? 2000 apps from one courier seems abnormal. I would think 200 to 300 at the max. each app has a lot of pages, even 100 of them are very heavy for one person.

Could you confirm? Were there anyone taking pictures using the phones? It feels this year is worse than last year. 2014 took 19 days to fill the cap. 2015 took 12 hours (8+4) to fill the cap. What is this year??

Probably they are accepting 10000 this year and announce the increased cap later. Pause the refugee process for a few weeks and get PGP in shape first? My wish.

they have 4 guys went there for line up since jan 3rd afternoon.

Guys, I called purolator so many times this morning so I guess they called me now to leave a message saying my package was delivered prior to 9 AM along with other 700 packages. Driver is yet to update the tracker but will do so prior to the end of the day. I do not think we need to stress ourselves more.

But this will be unfair for a person who not lucky with lottery??? he applies every year on time and never gets a chance???

I think what cic is doing is right but the way they are doing is wrong.

What they should do is make an online system for applying.

Whoever apply after 8am online until the cap is reached. no need for these stupid courier companies and no need tp rely on anyone. only person you will blame will be you. Everyone will have fair chance Toronto or BC doesn't matter.

They should increase min income req, by a lot.
Seriously, my family make well over min req, at least 10k+
but even without the parents, we are barely getting by.
Cost if living in Vancouver is insanely high.
We dont need to support the parents since they have their own money, but if we had to 100% support them with min req anual income, I guarantee it's not doable.

I personally think cic will accept every packet today and then stop accepting tomorrow..they wont deny anything today in my opinion...

I felt the same way.

Well said. Money talks? Do you think your family will rank top 5000 in the applications? Don't be too cocky. There is always someone else doing better than you.

Just called Purolator. This is what she said:

"All we know right now is that they were delivered before 9 am and that we are waiting on the upload of the scanning."

CIC will still accept applications even the cap was reached but they will inform those who didn't get thru the cap.

I wish you are correct in what you heard from happyroad..as you said my assumption on the # is based on the huge bags they had.. by that count I hope I am in the cap :)
