We are US citizens and we will move/immigrate to Canada as Canadian Permanent Residents in the coming summer. We are planning to wire most of our savings (over $10000) over to Canada but we have some questions regarding the timing of the steps.

- Do we land first and put down the amount we are going to wire as "goods to follow"?
- and then wire the amount over after we land?
- and how about the Form E677? when do i submit that? and to who?

It's really up to you when to bring (wire) your savings (whatever amount) to Canada.

Of course, when you find yourself a dream home in Canada (like me), you would like to have funds to secure it. ;D

- The form B4 is for "goods" to follow - not for "funds".
- U can't wire transfer funds w/out a Canadian Bank A/c.
- What is that [form E677]?

Form E677 - http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/security-securite/cbcr-dmte/faq-2-eng.html

We have a Canadian bank account already. So should I still mention the amount of money in the "goods to follow" list? and just wire the money over from US to Canada after I land?

1. U cannot quote 'funds' in the 'Goods to Follow' form/s.
2. That form isn't required to be 'pre-filled'. At the POE u'd get a 'declaration card' - use that for enumerating the funds.
3. If u already have a Canadian bank a/c - wire transfer the funds before u move - obtain the current bank statement - show it to the BSO.
