Hi friends, main passport 4april Friday nu Chandigarh vfs submit krvaeya c.ajj 11april Friday hai pure 7days.pr koi vfs di mail nahi ayi.hor sb nu 7days vad vfs mail aai c.mera status cvo ne 5april da decision made kita hoeya hai. Vfs di 7april monday nu mail &msg ayea c k asi tuhada passport chandigarh visa office 'ch bhej ditta hai .ki gll ho sakdi hai ?????????????????????

For cvo cases, i have seen people getting passport requests as early as 15-20 days after their medicals recieved, maximum time being 45 days (unless cvo asks for some new document, which happens very rarely) ..After that we have to send our PP`s to New Delhi for stamping and the best way is through vfs. your pp`s will be back by 1 weeks time.

I safely landed and did all formalities. Some useful information i want to share.

1. I got immigration check on Toronto and i asked for funds to carry as Cash/TC/DD and the lady replied that "I DONT KNOW BUT YOU CAN TAKE $10K." so dont worry for any funds.

2. Now regarding bank i surveyed many bank and found CIBC is best compare to all other banks as charges and quickly for CC. They have very good facility of depositing checuqe/dd like you need to take a pic thr' bank app and it gets processed in your a/c simple. No need to go in branch. I got a/c in just 15 mins with debit card. Now i feel faster and easy life At least for Winnipeg it is best.

3. Start preparing for computer test for driving license http://apps.mpi.mb.ca/dr_quiz/StartDrivingQuiz.asp?L=E. You need to go for class 5.

4. In downtown in Winnipeg there is Manitoba Start program, i guess all knows this. Just beside of that, you can apply for Health Card as they both are nearer to each other. I got it in 10 mins so my suggestion is go in between 3PM-4PM otherwise there will be long queue.

5. Oh for SIN on Toronto airport you can get in 30 mins for all family members, so make sure you do on Airport as once you moved to friend's/relative's house it will be little tough depending on their schedule.

Thats for now and will send you more experience.

Hi Dipan - welcome to Canada!! Good to see that you finally made it. Did you come with family or alone? How is the weather in Winnipeg? Here, in Toronto, its slowly warming up though evenings are little cold still.

Last week, my wife and kids landed too and this Thursday, I got admission for kids in school here.

I have another good news to share - yday, I cleared my Full G license in Toronto. I think, G license is specific to Ontario province. Not sure of the equivalent in Manitoba. I plan to start taking car on rental atleast once a month and drive for 2 days, so that I get good practice.

Rest fine... job is hectic so Mon-Fri i dont feel it passing and weekend is busy with taking out family, etc.

Has Sid made it too to Winnipeg? Its been long time since i heard from him.

I agree one with you fully - The REAAAAAAAAAL struggle is HERE not in India.

All the best to everyone on this forum that they see Visa in their pp very soon..

Ya you can fly on the same day. I guess you ll need to do connecting flight like you came on Toronto and in next flight Winnipeg. Check out for direct flight to Winnipeg. All the best.

I suggest very strong heart and mind. If you have attended CIIP session then you ll feel all that things here. I still didnt have any cell# and I am staying at my friend's place so cant share that no. But once i have I ll share my no. in PMB with everyone. I landed on 3rd April in winnipeg.
Got Sin Card at Toronto Airport only.
Opened Bank Account, got Health Card---this was all very easy.
BUT life here is a JHANDVA phir v pata ni Why people continue to say CANADA CANADA.
Canada is not even closer to a big city in Punjab.
Everything seems unreal-fake.
Nobody accounts for your education and experience of India.
In my words-better to be in canada in your next birth bcoz if you come now its just a waste.
These are my feelings in just 10 days. Better way is take your PR card and get back to PUNJAB for a ROYAL life.
Here people does not know what is Royality.
