Hi Vineethere/Raman,

I would like to quote that "Grass looks greener on other side".I do agree with Punjabi and please keep in mind that there is no one to support (expect family members/close friends) like you mentioned that govt/province??? Where man>>Please stop dreaming and Just believe in yourself....Sorry but this is true...

Also Vineet, Most imp:::Please ensure to buy medical insurance/Coverage for atleast 50KCAD individual for all your family member who are coming with you for at least 3 months as only after 3 months you will be entitled for medical coverage by province.

Almost all of the employers need PR confirmation to offer full time job over here however it is good to gel with the culture and do some networking with the people/recruiters,go for driving license etc as once you get PR you will definitely save time and get good job.

and yes it totally depends upon one's own choice,it depends on luck and choice of work as well...Remember I mentioned "Choice of work"

Secondly it is not sure/confirmed till date for all PNP candidates that once they get PPR from Consulate, they can just cross the border and do flagpole after visiting US....In case you have US visa than it is a different case....Plan accordingly as you might need to travel back for stamping....

One needs to come to home country for stamping and your employer here in canada will not grant to leave for 1 or 2 month to do that..

Also we found one more thing that in case one is having PNP nominated PR then one needs to stay in that province for 3 years to be a Citizen. They didn't stop you to relocate but will definitely ask you when you appear for Citizenship interview as PNP candidate had submitted formal document with signature that "I intend to stay in the nominating province"...Every day there is new learning over here....God bless and help all....

Family stay cost is nearly 1200-1400$ in Canada for 1 month( 600-700 rent,200-300 food, 200-300 travel/mobile etc)

Better to come on PR....Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Roxxane
Highly appreciated. It helps all. Thanks mate.

Thanks Roxxane, it indeed helps clearing many of doubts in my mind.... and i am sure this info would help us all....

Dear All

is there any possibility of rejection of PNP applicant after medical done and ECAS change into "in Process" ?

Hi Roxanne - thanks for the tip. But, i guess its too late for me now, as i have already resigned and booked ticket to Toronto. But, some caution i have taken due to whcih i am taking the courage to come on WP, else i too had all these issues in the beginning -

1. I was working in Toronto for 6-7 months few yrs back, so have few contacts and managers who said they can see if they can help, but they said i need to be physically present, else they cannot help if i am in India (meaning, no one will even talk if you are not present in Canada).
2. I am coming alone right now and already took a 1BHK in Scarborough for $350 pm (luckily owner is an Indian guy).
3. I found out that i am directly eligible for G2 DL, so will apply for that as soon as i land.
4. I have a valid US B1/B2 visa, so i have also got information from ppl who had US visa and flagpoled earlier. Actually, one need not even go to US border to flagpole. Do you know that, one can also go to the Immigration dept in Toronto, take an appt and flagpole sitting in Toronto itself??I know people who have done both ways, so i can see.
5. Only one issue is - when PPR comes in India, i need to send the passport via courier back to my family in Bangalore, who will then send it to NDVO. Once my family receives PP with PR stamping, they need to courier my passport alone to Canada. Pls remember that sending PP via courier according to Indian law is illegal (its written in the passport itself). This is one tricky thing that i need to see. If someone is traveling back and forth exactly when i want, then its even better. Need to see this....
6. I am a Project Manager here in Bangalore working for a American company with 13yrs of exp. Now, if i go to Canada in the mindset that i want ONLY project Manager jobs, then as you say, it may be difficult. One cannot be so choosy. I am coming with OPEN mind (like my Open WP visa my mind is also Open!!! ) :D I am open to do even a basic engineer or data entry operator job to start with and create a base.
7. I do not understand one thing though - yes, for companies to offer full time employment, a PR is preferred, but there are many contract jobs for 12months, etc. How does it matter to those companies who have contraact jobs whether the person is a PR or OWP holder??
8. To be honest, i have even seen ppl having PR and still struggle.

-Vineet

Just to add another point -

http://www.cicnews.com/2013/08/bridging-open-work-permit-helps-workers-stay-canada-082839.html

There is new concept of BWP whcih is more like an extn to OWP incase the PR still doesnt come thru even by the validity period of OWP.

BOTTOMLINE - Yes, i am not feeling too good either and very shit scared!! :( But, its too late, i have already jumped in the water....

Yes you may withdraw any amount at anytime from you account at the account should be like a normal account with withdrawals and deposits. But it is recommended that the monthly ending Balance in any 6months period should be not lower that the required Minimum funds since they may request an updated Statement of account from you anytime as well. And as you know ist 6mos Statement of account. so you have to prepare for this Moment that the Balance should be the one required.

Good luck!

No updates :(. How many days will go like this? Strike is big hurdle in our all applicant process. Dont know why government is not taking any step to resolve this. Lets hope that we will have something good news tomorrow.
Have a splendid meal with family.

Friends :

To all of us waiting or wondering how people earlier than yourself getting ppr or dm - pl read below :
***pl read it carefully to better understand why PPR/ DM gets shuffled up****

Each case is different
Each officer at ECU assigns batch as per files done (One program officer - completes 10 files a day on fsw1 and 5 files on fsw2 and 3 files on cec as an example) - all these rush to ECU for Sec Batch Processing to CSIS
now that CSIS receives it - there is a lot that goes on to complete these checks (referencing FOSS- immigration system of countries travelled - crim nal history - rcmp etc) so when these checks are completed files are sent in the order reports were received (this will shuffle the earlier order of files that was sent by ECU TO CSIS-- DUE TO NATURE OF INTENSITY OF EACH CASE AND reports received date)
when these reports are rcvd by NDVO - fil waits for Bf' date - so that VO can access these reports on such Bf date and issue ppr or dm

Read this post on federal forum.

Hope this helps
