Foreign service strike could continue into fall: Union rep
By Michelle Zilio | Jul 11, 2013 5:43 pm | | 3Comments It is increasingly likely that Canadian foreign service officers will continue to strike into the fall session, unless the government comes back to the negotiating table, according to the union.
In a picket outside of Citizenship and Immigration Canada headquarters in Ottawa Thursday, Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) President Tim Edwards said the union is prepared to continue striking into the fall sitting of Parliament if they have to.
“There are no signals that the government has taken the decision to come back to the table for a meaningful discussion,” said Edwards. “We are prepared to take this as long as it takes. Whether its just to the end of the summer, whether it’s into the fall.”
