Gusto sana namin na pumunta before Christmas but reality check din sa part namin. The ticket price now are soaring high so we opted to go on January. I have to finish undone tasks here before I go so I can go with a happy face. I'm going to hand over my leave of absence next week so we can start preparing and selling things. Sigh... Iba pala talaga ang feeling ng may finality na kasi this time you know you are really leaving for good... :D

Magla-landing kami anytime soon. 3 kami (mag asawa at may isang anak). Ang minimum fund required nung mag apply kami for visa ay CAD$ 17,011 for 3 family members. Plano sana naming magdala ng CAD$ 5,000 cash at 4,000 traveller's cheque at yung remaining ay iiwan muna namin sa bank account sa Pinas. Hindi ba hahanapin sa immigration / point of entry sa Canada na dapat CAD$ 17,011 ang dala namin either in the form of cash or cheque? Thank you po sa sasagot.

Hi,

You may want to read through the links here:

Essentially - the PoF requirement for immigrants under PNP is much relaxed. It is specified under FSW, but no mention for PNP.

Hi. If i were you, I'll bring the remaining as part of the POF either increase the amount of cas you have or the TC. The IO will definitely ask these. You can also read on this forum http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t39318.0.html
Have a safe trip and happy landing

The hotline is only for those residing in Canada. And even if you are residing in Canada the line should only be used kung nag-exceed na ng normal processing time for your VO or if your application is in process and you could not check your status online( check the contact us page of cic ).

FYI - those in the call centre will not be able to provide you information on your PR application once it the file has been transferred to a VO. They will only see what shows up on your myCIC page or ECAS, but nothing further. Details will be left to the VO. This is why the case-specific inquiry is directed to the VO and/or all correspondences pertaining to the application is directed to the VO.

chest x-ray and evaluation by the designated pulmonogist will be repeated after 3 mos. from the date of the 1st x-ray. kung negative naman lahat, the DMP will clear him and forward his medical result to CEM. Good luck

You don't need to go to any embassy. All applications are done via email and courier/ postal mail.

The first thing you will have to do is send your application to CIC Nova Scotia, Canada with the visa processing fee of CAD550, you can also pay your RPRF (CAD490) already if you want along with the visa processing fee.

Then you wait for your AOR, then your MR. Once you receive your MR, the emails and any correspondence will be from the Canadian Embassy, Manila (CEM). Even PPR will only be sent to them via courier. So, basically, the consulate in Cebu will not be able to process your application.

Thanks tabs179! This is very helpful. I was already trying to budget my expenses on top of the processing fees since I would need to travel. But given that everything is online and via courier, then I no longer need to except for the medicals, maybe.

God bless! :)

from what I know, the immigration officer will not look for the exact amount of your show money upon entry to Canada. what they require is just for you to declare any amount of money you have with an equivalent of 10,000 CAD or more.

for the more tenured ones, please feel free to chime in if otherwise.

God bless sa travel! =)

You're welcome. Yes, you will have to be present for the medical examination. Although I know there is an IOM in Cebu and they are much more reliable than IOM Manila. So, no travelling really needed for you, until you buy your ticket for Canada!
