Hi Guys,

Just sharing especially for those who are planning to continue their study in CA and for those who will look for a job. Sometimes they say, employers also look:

Designated Educational Credential Assessment Organizations

On April 17, 2013, four organizations have been designated by Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney to conduct the educational credential assessments. The designated organizations are:

Comparative Education Service;
International Credential Assessment Service of Canada;
World Education Services; and
Medical Council of Canada

Applicants who have completed their studies in Canada will not be required to undergo an educational credential assessment, unless they are also including a foreign credential in support of their application. In addition, any educational credential assessment report issued after April 17, 2013, will be valid for immigration purposes for a period of five years from the date that it was issued by a designated organization.

I would like to try this as we are not under FSW. For those under FSW, credentials(Diploma/transcript) has to be forwarded by our school to the said assessment institution directly.

Any opinion guys, I believe we require this while looking for a job there. Also, above assesssment will take 3 months before they deliver the package to you. So better start early before landing. =)

CONGRATULATIONS!

If the observation holds that ECAS updates are done when a 'stage' of processing is completed, well then it may mean they will be sending PPR soon.

And kudos to you - you may have heard the class action suit for pre-2008 applicants was thrown out by at the federal level although appeals are to be made. In hindsight, your application progress is better off now (no disrespect meant to pre-2008 applicants still appealing....).

We might start a new thread for this - I have a WES certificate but that was used for assessment a few years ago when I was assigned in the US - equating my credentials equivalent to that obtained from the US educational institutions. Whether this can be added weight to credential assessment for equivalency to Canadian institutions - this I will have to see.

Will let you know what happens.

Nagsubmit ako nung Apr 2, 2013 ng application for Credential Assessment sa IQAS in Alberta, Canada. Okay n rin b yun magamit when looking for a job in Manitoba? Although hindi listed sa mga organizations s pinost mo, Ms xdma? Nagpa assess ako in preparation for my CRNM (College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba) application in the future. Irerecognize din kaya nila yun?

Too early to tell at this point Ms Tweety05 if the provincial credential assessment services will be folded into the new federal credential assessment services/requirement. As of yet - the 4 organizations are providing services for immigrants under FSWP. IQAS seems to be for the provincial level, and I do not think CIC will (should they fold the services for the provincial and federal level) will apply the requirement retroactively to other applicants in other streams.

As of now - continue to proceed with IQAS with respect to getting your credentials recognized for practice in Alberta. We'll have to monitor updates on this in the meantime.

I feel pity to those Feb2008 FSW applicant, thats very unfair decision after waiting for long haul years ...Thanks to the BC PNP FSW Backlog really i was sooo blessed and fortunate that i was nominated for this program to ease my application my canadian dream...hope sooooooonnnnn PPRV will come to plan accordingly...GBU!

my question is about payment methods for PF in CIO, to all people who sent by bank draft, which bank here in the Philippines would you suggest..and is it ok to have the amount as a whole, for example 550 for me as a principal applicant , 550 for my wife and 150 for my son, so i will request for a bank draft a total of 1250 CAD, just a one draft or check..is it correct? thanks..and good luck to all
