Aww, it's ok, at least you know eCAS is working and your file is in Sao Paulo. You should receive AOR/in process very soon.

Good luck!

My E-cas also got updated today for the first time. File received on Oct 7 and medicals have been received. No mention of processing but that is to be expected since the application is being processed in Islamabad.

What the hell???? What is going on with September?? This waiting is killing us - we want to go away but are afraid to leave Canada for fear that hubby won't get back in (grumpy border people)....he's on a visitors visa right now until May 17th....Is anybody hearing anything about September? We have been in process, medicals received since November 15th - additional documentation was received by them from us on December 6th. Grrrrrrrrr

Sounds like your AOR - next step will be "in process" - look for it on ECAS - should be there within the next couple of days! Congratulations - it's so exciting to see things move along. It's a horribly stressful process for all of us. Thank goodness for this forum!!! Good luck, you are on your way!

OK so...when I started checking e-cas I used "UK and Colonies" as POB because that's what I had put on my application. But after no result, I started using "England" which was what I had used when I had applied for a student visa many moons ago. But all I got was my name but no updates. So I stopped checking. Today on a whim, I decided to check again, but when I used "England" nothing came up! So (again on a whim) I used "UK" and voila! I have an updated status. So basically I've been using the wrong country to check all this time! Anyhoo - this is the update:-

Application transferred to Taiwan VO: November 4, 2010.

In process: December 9, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

So now just waiting out those 4+ months for the RCMP check!!!!!

Hey MissyIffy...I signed up for those email notifications https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/ and they were using various combinations such as England (which is where I'm born), Wales, United Kingdom and Colonies, etc. They put me in as England! I guess it depends on who's putting it in ECAS.

Finally some ecas news. After so many months my husband has finally shown up on ecas. They are confirming that they started to process his application back on October 7, 2010 and they are also confirming that they received his medicals. Doesn't say when the meds were received, just that they have them.

I'll take this as a positive sign. Does any one know what might be next?

Interview? Is that usually the next step?

Thoughts?

Thanks

I've been in process since November 15th - sometimes it's goes really quick from the point that you are at, sometimes it doesn't. They will inform you whether or not an interview is required. You will receive a letter from them. Now it's a waiting game. Good luck!

Thanks dlmt

I know that there is still a ways to go. according to ecas it says that once they have received your medicals that a decision has been made and we will be informed in writing. Does that mean what I think it means? It can't just be that easy? right? I know every embassy does things their own way, but are we at the decision point like ecas is indicating?

You still have to go through the security check which takes some time - again in some cases really quickly, in others not so quick. It depends on how many different places the applicant has lived etc. You are close to the decision point but not quite yet. I know patience is not a virtue, at least for me it's not!

Mine's been updated with a 'Medical results have been received' message too, and an updated processing date for Sydney (I guess!)
