Maybe the people who work there were soooo happy that I didn't staple even one sheet of paper together, that they processed my application quickly?

limanoid, Ours arrived the same day as yours, so I hope I share the same record timing as you!

And I am jealous of you inlanders. I want my husband here!! Who cares if he can't work legally, I would rather live in near poverty than go through this alone!

I am a little jealous of all you outlanders....inland is a bit more of a waiting game!

Good news! I have been approved to sponsor my husband. I was approved October 4th and received the letter in the mail today! So that's good! 25 days? Record time or what?

When you say inlanders do you mean those who are together applying in Canada? I heard that separated couples are put on the top of the list (hence the process is faster) because CIC wants to reunite family members as a priority. I know a few of my friends waited over a year applying together from within Canada (that's for the PR application). I know for London the waiting time is anywhere between 2 and 8 months. Not sure if this is purely wishful thinking or true. But I hear ya! It's been two months since I saw my husband and it hurts so much. I really value the time we did and will spend with each other. I am so happy that we have Skype so at least we can see each other almost daily. So I guess we are very lucky!

Ever get the feeling that your application has been lost in transit?!?!? I was given poor advice from the Post Office here in the England and my application was only tracked until it left the UK (what use is that to ANYONE?!?!)....Getting worried now.... :'(

Big congrats to everyone that has had their approval though !!

addtl docs sent to CEM: july 2010
received med ref: aug 2010
med taken: sept 21 2010
follow up to NHS results of med is OK.
they forward it to CEM last oct 6
waiting for PPR....

ilang months kaya usually bgo dumating PPR?

Canooknic: Have you tried calling CIC call center? They might be able to tell you if the application was received.. I hope it was!! It would be terrible to wait a full month just to find out your package was lost

Regarding our returned folder they sent a letter asking for IMM 5406 which we forgot to put in our folder :. But now when I was filling it up they ask to mention names in native language.

- Can I use a separate sheet and write only the names in same order as in form in native language?
- Just for the clarification-- Should my sponsor also have to fill up same form from her side?

Though I think its NOT required coz she and her entire family are canadian citizens and there family records are very much with them. Please advice!



One of my PCC has also expired by now -- Do I have to get the PCC once again? Though they'd not mentioned anything about it coz last time when have sent our application it was valid. I don't want them to send me back the application once again asking for PCC or do they consider it as valid as folder last time reached on time.

Any hints or advices people.

IMM 5406 says "Complete ALL names in English and in your native language (for example, Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Chinese commercial/telegraphic code, Korean, or Japanese characters). If additional space is required attach a separate sheet."

Only the sponsored person completes that form. Don't forget to sign in sections that are applicable.

Regarding your PCC (is that police clearance certificate?", I am guessing that you have to get a new one since you are essentially "reapplying" for PR sponsorship. The police certs are good for 3 months, in most cases. They are good for a longer period (a year, maybe?) if they are sent and received by CIC while they are still valid, I believe.

whiteeagle: I think you might not be able to type the special characters on the form. Adobe probably doesn't recognize them. I don't think you'll have any problem attaching a note to your form with the correct writing/characters of your native name, just make sure you mention the form (IMM 5406) and your name on the additional sheet.

Police certificates have to be no older than 3 months when received by CIC at Mississauga. Even if they are still valid, CIC will not accept them.
Check the date of issuance on them and if it hasn't been 3 months since it was issued, you should be fine. Just resend it.

hi everyone! m so happy! i checked our e-cas just today and it says there DECISION MADE. and a letter has been sent to us last OCt. 6...it does not say there when was our application sent to Manila...guys, i'm so excited..thanks God!... ;D
