Hi everyone,

I still could not manage to send them the reply back regarding the interview, as my solicitor is collecting all proofs so that we can make really stronger case and convince the case worker the reasons that i cant come to UK for the interview. Meanwhile with the bad news i have received three good news too. I have been offered teaching posts in Beijing China, Melbourne Australia and also in Barcelona Spain BUT i am interested in staying in Canada and make it my home lol. I am very worried, opportunities are coming on such a time when i am stuck here in CANADA. Please pray for me and congrats to all those who received their passports or their PPR's. Gud luck to those who are in waiting game.

wow shandymoo congratulations!! :)

Congratulations guys!

My wife also received her passport back today after exactly 7 excruciating weeks of waiting from London.

But, for the #15 portion on the confirmation of permanent residence form, where they say name and address of who is willing to support you, they have some old information which we never submitted! It is a previous address from pre-2001 and my previous name (added baptised first name). So if my names "Great, The Twoone" they've got "Great, The" (Twoone as added around 2001/2002 and I have the name change records).

Should I be worried or can we simply cross the border and land while giving our current address to mail the PR card to?

If we were to try and get this changed again I fear we may wait another 2 months for anything to happen and we're our Visa expires in mid September. Please help guys!

Hi Nazam, I think we're kind of in the same boat in terms of opportunities coming on and we're stuck in here trying to start our families' new life in Canada and waiting for a long long time for the right to live and to work here. on the other hand, what we understood from reading the forum, we have to stay and wait as the landing permit won't last long, usually very short-term so you have to land almost right away. and taking any job overseas will lead to at least one-year contract.
about opportunities to work and live in another country for some time - this kind of opportunities could be an experience of a lifetime, not always coming up. but in case smb takes it, I think it can prolong the case significantly - new address, new country of residence, new PCs, new checks, etc.

the reason to consider this option if it's the only way to continue to stay together with your spouse, if you feel stuck and can't prolong your stay here.

Hello Everyone,

Not been on in a while! Just a quick update really.

Got my PPR on 6/4/2011 sent my passport away on the 12/4/2011 (went on holiday so couldnt send it sooner!) and I recieved my passport back complete with Visa on the 18/05/2011 and have my flight booked for the 5/06/2011 so will be landing in a week and a half!

HI Jianadaren,

yeah you are right. I will stay in Canada so that the things are not more complicated. Gud luck to your case too.

Hi all,

From your experience in dealing with the London Visa Office, do you know whether we should receive an email or letter from them letting us know that our application is in process? If so, what is the timeline typically? Our application was received on March 21, and I was approved to sponsor my husband on April 20/11, and our file was transferred from Mississauga to London on May 4. Meds have also been receieved. There hasn't been any other updates since then. My husband hasn't rec'd anything to indicate that they have recieved his application/and or that it is being worked on. Is this typical?

Thanks!!
