AMAZING news!! Congratulations!!

It's the best feeling isn't it!! :D

Definitely!!! I hated not knowing what the decision was!!

When I checked my email, I saw the one from them and was scared to open it!! My mum just kept saying...."go on open it"! haha Glad I did!!

Yey! Such good news!
Are you the sponsorer or the sponsoree?

And congrats on being the first February Londoner! :)

I am the sponsoree haha

My husband hasn't been dealing well with me gone....so was nice to be able to give him some good news and a rough date to look towards! =)

@CattAdams many congrats on your PPR!!!!! And great you can get your visa so quickly too. You'll be landed in no time :-)

We've arrived in Edmonton! My fiance's landing was very quick and the kids have just had a spending spree in Toys'r'Us with the money they made from selling their old ones on eBay - so much fun!! For all of you who are still waiting...it is worth the weeks/months of effort.
Good luck to you all xxx

Hey Canooknic...congratulations on landing and finally getting the nightmare over with. I hope you all settle in well in your new home!

Hi

I am still trying to sort out my interview problems. I have hired a solicitor here in Canada and hopefully he will reply for the email that came this week. lets see weather they can reconsider without interview or can transfer file to Seattle which is near to me. Hopefully according to Human Rights law they can not split me and my wife. We are already in Canada together. So let see how long they will take now! Only problem is that i cant work. So i have to manage and my wife has to find a job.

Congrats to all those got their PPR or did their landing.

Naz

Hope theres a way around it for you Naz, I think you've done the best thing in hiring a solicitor though.

I don't know whether anybody can help me, I sent additional information requested by CIC London on the 3rd of May - recorded delivery from Canada. I've been able to track it using Canada post, but the last thing on the tracking is "international item has left Vancouver 05/05/2011"

Does it get updated at the other end in England, or am I just wasting my time still checking it?

HI Kelly,

R u in Canada and you have sent them to UK? Is that correct? if so then you can only track up to point when it leaves Canada. If it is registered it will defiantly reach UK. I am in Canada and sent documents to UK as a normal post and took 4 days to reach there so don't worry.

Naz

Yes I'm in Canada and I've sent documents to the UK. Oh if i had known that I don't think I would have bothered with the extra postage ha. But atleast I can stop checking now! Thank You Naz :)

I will probably leave them alone til about mid June and then drop them an e-mail to check that they have received it all if I havnt heard anything by then. Don't want to pester too much, I think my immigration officer must be a bit of a hard ass anyway to refuse the proof we provided, seems like some people I've read about have got by on a lot less.

Does anybody have any idea how long I might have to wait after submitting additional docs that London themselves requested? I have zero idea of a timeframe?

Cheers.

Congratulations CattAdams, really happy for you. I'm still trying to imagine what it will feel like to get the green light, must be pretty amazing!

Kelly, from what I have heard it takes another 1-2 months from requesting additional documentation. Hopefully nearer the 1 month mark for you. CanadaPost has a phone number you can call 1 888 550 6333. Maybe they can provide more info about your package?

Finally after much procrastination and nerves I bit the bullet and called CHC London today to ask about my case. Pressed zero at the automated message to speak to a human (although not an option, it works). The lady I spoke with asked how long I had been waiting. I told her that it had been 3 months since e-CAS had changed its status to "decision made". She told me that was indeed a very long time, which was slightly encouraging, and so put me through to the immigration department. Unfortunately this was just a voicemail so I left a detailed message. If I don't hear anything by next Tuesday (Monday is Victoria day so presumably a holiday for CHC London), I'll give it another go.
