Hi folks, just logged into ecas to see decision made next to my permanent residency application status! Does this mean its all done and dusted? When i click on the "decision made" it says this -

1. We received ########'s application for permanent residence on August 5, 2016.

2. We started processing #########'s application on September 13, 2016.

3. Medical results have been received

What next?

Yes mate you are more or less done if it says DM on PA side. Just wait for the email.

Congrats

Yes, that's it. 99.9% certain it is acceptance!

Next you will receive your CoPR forms in the Royal Mail as 'signed for' delivery - so look out for the slip if you are not in. Mine took 3 days to arrive, but one week should be pretty safe bet. The CoPR will give you your 'expiry date' or the date you must land by (usually one year from the date of your medical.

Congratulations! Spreadsheet updated.

Thanks for the responses folks. I stupidly used a lawyer, who doesn't really know what's going on..... I called them today to tell them i had DM, and they were like, what?? They don't have a clue, I asked them what happens next, and they said "what do you mean, what happens next?" This is from a supposedly top immigration law firm in toronto (I won't name names) .

Anyway, I think because they are my representative that my COPR will get mailed to them, then they will forward it to me. I'm currently back in the UK for family related issues, but i was in Canada for 8 months up until Dec 28th. I have flights booked to try and return to canada on thursday the 19th, but i'm wondering if i should wait and try and find out where my COPR is going to be sent, and then just wait here until i get it? I can't be bothered with hassle at the border. Anyone got any thoughts??

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet.

Hi there! Just an update for the spreadsheet... we received the COPR on January 9th! :) Flight is booked, the hubby is landing on Feb the 16th!

Couldn't be happier!!!

Super huge thank you to everyone who takes the time out of their day to help keep us sane, to inform/guide us, and of course who keeps the spreadsheet up to date. You make this process so much easier to bear.

And good luck to everyone else who is still waiting for their application to go through.

Decision Made! But Confused!

Ok so I've been mostly checking myCIC, but have checked both myCIC and ECAS the last few days. ECAS (probably as of yesterday) says Decision Made on the PA side.

When I log in to myCIC though, under Background Check it still says 'in progress' and under final decision it says 'not started'.

I am elated to have anything that says DM (!!!!)... BUT... do you guys think I should be hesitant, or just assume they haven't gotten round to updating both things and/or emailing me yet?

also - just wanted to let you know our Background Check went to 'in progress' on 16 Dec, in case you want to add that to the notes section.

Tricky one. People have reported that it take 'days' for the CoPR to reach a UK address (assuming LVO) but weeks to reach Canadian addresses (generally 2 / 3 weeks). Once it reaches your address in Canada I assume you will then have to get someone to mail it back to you in the UK - could take 4 - 6 weeks? Wouldn't it be easy enough for you to do a flagpole trip via road once you get back to Canada?

Oh crikey, who knows!! I think if EITHER MyCIC or ECAS says DM, then I would assume that is correct and the other simply hasn't cycled through yet - pretty hard for them to change the status in error I would have thought. Expect a Royal Mail signed for letter in the next few days - mine took three working days to get to me in the UK.

Spreadsheet updated. Please let us know when you get your CoPR

Hi - I haven't been checking our ECAS, but given your comment I just had a look... we're in the same situation. ECAS says 'Decision made' under Permanent Residence Application Status, but MyCIC still has the background check marked 'In progress'. I would guess they updated the ECAS on Friday - 14 Jan. Looks like we've been in lockstep the whole way!
