There was a thread about this on the British Expats forum here (post no 12):

http://britishexpats.com/forum/immigration-citizenship-canada-33/copr-postage-882604/

One of the regular posters there is a CBSA Officer, who basically said (paraphrasing from memory here!) if you flagpoled from Canada (as you guys would), yes, they can print it at the border and process you there, but would only be OK to do so if enough time had elapsed (a month or two), AND you could show proof (email from VO saying approved etc.) and proof that you had chased it to the best of your ability etc.
Thanks Hurlabrick - good to know. Hopefully it won't get to that stage and it turns up soon.

Hi, has anyone seen "file held for london pilot project" in their gcms notes.

A september 2016 applicant whose file is in lvo saw this in her notes.

I wonder what this means and how long will they hold it for.Any way we can take further info into this?

This has been noted in a few different threads on this and other forums.

Quick answer seems to be that no one knows what the project is for sure and I would be pretty sure that CIC wont be saying! One can only hope that it is a project to speed things up - I found my own London application was approved about 2 months quicker than expected.

Nothing you can do about it I am afraid, so try not to worry (easy said I know).....

I Posted this elsewhere, there seems to be some new pilot project that CIC is working on, but have not yet announced. The notes made reference to an operational bulletin (can't remember the number offland, OB570 maybe?), but the OB is not publicly available yet, so the guess is that there's something in the works but they've not announced it yet, but are working on it internally, and setting aside some files to go through that new process. It's also possible that this supposed 'new process' may only be something they are trialling internally to see if it's feasible/realistic before publicly announcing it, so it's possible we may not even hear about this project at all.

As Hurl said, not much you can do but just wait and see! :)

Thank you both!
If any other applicant/sponsor sees "file held for london pilot project" in their gcms notes, please let the forum know. Admins, maybe its something we can update in the spreadsheets notes. I will inform from the PK side.

Just add it in the Notes column and we'll take it from there, we don't like to add extra columns unnecessarily as it just clutters up the spreadsheet.

COPR also arrived today. Issue date is Dec 16 posted on the 19th.

Didn't have to sign for it either.

Landing on Friday!

Big thanks to everyone on this forum. Invaluable help. Keep it up!

Congrats!!! Seems our COPRs were stuck in the Christmas backlog. No messinf around to get landed either. I was tempted to drive down but couldn't be bothered with rush hour traffic. Going to go Friday I think.

How was flagpoling? Any issues? Which crossing?

None at all, went in the US for some fuel no questions asked. Canadian side just said go inside and take the landing form. I did the following

Took both copies of COPR.
2 copies of goods accompanying (I just wrote wallet, passport and landing documents on it)
2 copies of goods to follow
Passport obviously
I had proof of funds but that wasn't required

Went up to the desk, border agent took both copies of COPR and my goods lists. They then gave me a customs form to fill out.

Was called back up, signed both copies of COPR and they kept the copy with my photo on it. Stamped my passport, stamped the customs forms and stapled COPR into my passport. Took 15 minutes. They told me the PR Card will take a life time to arrive.

Went down to Service Canada and within 30 minutes had my SIN.

One thing I did notice is that my envelope from the London Visa Office contained a number of the passport size photos that were submitted. The border agent didn't take these, so not sure why they were returned to me. Hopefully they haven't cocked anything up, did you get passport photos with your letter?

Also when it ask 'Did you submit a paper application to an office outside Canada' do I pick yes or no? I sent my application to Mississauga but its an outland application and my visa office is London

Many Thanks

Thanks for this! Super helpful. I didn't get any passport photos back. Maybe you sent too many when you submitted? There's one attached to my COPR. I'm not bringing anything in with me so will just turn up with my COPR and passport.
