I really like Gatineau Park, it is so close (15 mins in the car) I feel so lucky to have it on my doorstep.

The weird thing this morning was opening the front door caused a big cloud of condensation in the hallway. Just like opening a huge freezer :)
For those who cant imagine these sort of temperatures (and -24C is not the coldest we get in Canada).
Imagine this hypothetical situation ... if I climb inside my fridge freezer, I would feel 12C warmer than standing outside, bonkers huh?

Unfortunately Ottawa is one of the coldest capitals in the world! My hubby visited Ottawa in the summer (30 C) prior to moving here and he can't believe that it is the same place! Thankfully tomorrow it's supposed to go up to around 0 C and snowing as well.

S&I at Bells corners have various types of squash - Robinson's last time I was in there (assuming that you mean the drink), it is not cheap though.

Kraft have already closed some Cadbury locations, the UK will not put up with flavour changes, there will be riots.

Thanks Baloo! I think my hubby will be very happy. However, we're paying around 50 cents for a can of frozen drink so if it is VERY expensive, it may not be worth it...

Yes it was hot last summer, we had the AC running in the evenings because without it you could not sleep.
I saw the 0C forecast, but it looks like snow is also part of the deal.

I think the Robinson's juice is about $4 or $5 a bottle. S&I do sell some bottles at a lower price, usually the ones that are past of their best before date.
I guess the pricing is a supply and demand thing.

FWIW I have just finished my strong cheddar cheese and Branston pickle ploughmans ;D ;D ;D ;D

I cant deal with poutine, for me it is a cardiac arrest on a plate.

Final thought, save money - buy at Costco (but compare prices).

Isn't there a place near you that sells this sort of stuff?

"One walnut whip", I feel sadness due to your dwindling supply of treats.
If you are in Canada, PM me and maybe we can arrange a delivery for you and your partner :)

Yes, Lucozade is available ;D ;D

Hey there, just thought this may be of interest to you! I emailed Matthew today to see if he would mind updating the ECAS tracker stats.. I think it is quite interesting as although Tuesday is still a big day, Monday and Thursday seem to be busy too! Enjoy :D

Hi,

Hi Matthewc, I was wondering if you could please run the stats again?

Sure:

166 Mon
388 Tue
92 Wed
110 Thu
90 Fri
87 Sat
46 Sun

No real change - more updates on Tuesday than any other individual day, but the majority of updates happen on other days. I expect now there's a sample size of almost 1000 updates, we won't see that change much unless CIC's procedures change.

Are you able to run them by Embassy as well? Specifically I am looking at London. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. :D

No, the tracker doesn't store that information. There's no way it can (e-CAS itself doesn't record what embassy is processing the application) and even if it could, I wouldn't want to. It stores as little of people's personal info as it can get away with and still function. That's by design. The info about when updates happen can be safely aggregated and isn't connected to people's individual trackers.

That's really interesting to see how it all works, but sometimes I think it just doesn't. My eCas still hasn't been updated with PPR and I'm sending off my passport today to London for my visa.

Hey MandiF - agreed. As this is for all ecas updates via the tracker, it only gives us a glimpse of the worldwide activity in regards to updated status via the tracker. I just thought it was nice to see that Tuesday wasn't the only golden day. My ecas has been updated so some of these could possibly be London as there are still a lot of London people whose status has changed to In Progress through the London Embassy, perhaps your IO just forgot.. either way, you are the lucky one with the PPR!! ;D

Hey guys...lovin' today - me and my fellah sent our application off today. Celebrated with champers at 1pm and then another bottle with Domino's delivery!!!

Feels like a Friday! ;)

yeah, its really good to see that its not only tuesday. I got myeCas update for DM for sponsorship on a Sunday - very strange!

And no, I don't mind if my IO forgot or never got around to updating eCas, yes, I am lucky that the first I heard was PPR! :)

Congrats and good luck dishy, hope its a speedy application for you. I remember the relief of getting it gone - now its the waiting and triple guessing what you sent!

I posted the same thing on the october thread but thought I would post here since everyone is so desperate for some sort of news.

Well can't decide if it is good news our bad news. We just got an email from London around 3pm uk time for those that want to know. We apparently didn't include the 5406 additional family information forum. My husband swears he filled it out and signed it. I don't ever rememeber seeing it. It was off and in the mail in the half hour and will arrive tomorrow morning. Real mixed feelings going on. I am happy they are at least processing. My husband is really fixated on being sent back to the bottom of the never ending pile, meaning a three month delay. Is already talking about just flying over- tomorrow if he had his way. Trying to keep spirits up.

Try taking it as good news spacey, especially as they didn't ask you for anything else i.e. additional proof, or say they wanted an interview, cause you could have brought it with you then I suppose and I would have thought if there was anything else wrong they would have let you know at this stage as well.

And you do know that they are working on your application, that's got to be good news.

I know what your husband is talking about just flying over, that's what I did, I just knew I couldn't wait it out in the UK and had everything planned to come to Canada even before I got PPR.

I posted this in the October thread but it applies here too....

I got my passport request today via email from London CHC! I registered to post this to give hope to you other applicants, and say thanks to everyone who posted in this thread since I've been reading your posts for a while.
