I've noticed on the spreadsheet that Statutory declaration of common-law union (IMM5409) is being requested more often in Ottawa. I was just wondering if anyone might know why that was or had any insight to it?

I know there's no solid answer, I was just curious. Since all the guidance says not to include it unless your common-law spouse is a co-signer!

No idea. Some people get asked, most people don't. Your guess is as good as mine!

COPR arrived in the regular post Monday, October 31st. We went to Montana today, Nov 1, through the Coutts border and did our landing. Pretty easy process. We were escorted from the U.S. side to the Canadian side - completed the paperwork- my husband officially became a PR, then we made our way back to the U.S. As we figured we'd Make a day of it and go further in to Montana.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for news from CIC!

Logged into myCIC today and noticed under My Permanent Residence Application Status it now says Decision Made. However there is no sign of what that decision is as yet. When I click on the Decision Made link it just says what it has for the last 6 months which is '3.Medical results have been received.'

Should I not have received an email with the decision? Or will it only come in the mail? Any help would be appreciated. Also not sure if you guys need to update the spreadsheet with this info.

doesn't look like they've asked you for additional documents at any point in time, and of course you haven't had an interview either. i'm sure it's an approval. congratulations! :)

LVO isn't really consistent in this regard; sometimes they'll update MyCIC/ECAS several days before sending out the email, and at other times they'll send it a few days after updating the system. rest assured you'll get the email very soon!

Sounds like decision made to me - spreadsheet updated. Please let us know when you receive the paper COPR.

AH I totally forgot to mention around three weeks ago they asked to re-send new passport photos. Does this change anything?

They said DM, I am sure they mean it.

Photo requests are pretty much the final things to be requested. They ask for new ones to the latest specification (which changed in early 2016) so they can put these on your COPR letter amongst other things.

Before we had MyCIC and the 'background checks in process' indication, the request for photos was seen as the final step (now background check in progress is seen as the final step). So yes, it all seems to 'fit'!

Hi all,

Hope you guys can help

further to my previous message of my approval, I sent across my passport via special delivery post the next day and also emailed it across.

It'll be 2 weeks on the 9th November since LVO received it. I haven't heard anything, not even a confirmation receipt of docs. Does anyone know how long it'll take to receive my COPR? Is it worth me contacting LVO?

Any help/guidance will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Hi everyone!

Got an email stating the below

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada which has been approved. In order for us to continue the processing of your landing documents, please submit the following:

- Passport: Please submit a scanned copy of the information page of your current valid passport

The above information/documents must be received in our office within 5 days from the date of this email. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application. Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence.

Please print out and return this email with the requested documents.

Can I just email across the passport or do I need to post it?

If you check the spreadsheet for the time LVO take between PPR and sending out the COPR, you will see that for other applicants, it seems to take 3 - 4 weeks. You are well under that - I am sure you will get it in the next week or two. LVO are fairly notorious for not bothering to update that they have received stuff on the tracking service. I wouldn't bother trying to contact them for another week or two yet.

I can imagine how frustrating it is to be so near. I still have three or four months to wait to be in your position!

Hello!

I've been lurking here for months and it's really helped me with my application. I am sponsoring my husband from the UK and I would like to be added to the spreadsheet, here are my details:

Application received in Mississauga: November 9
Married

If there's anything I'm missing at this point let me know!

Can you just confirm that you are making an 'outland' application??
