Hoping to get the AOR2 asap
Fingers crossed

Hello all.. we got decision made on August 1 and received Passport request August 4. Its been quiet a long journey on our side. 2 years and 4 months. Done 3 medicals. Such a roller coaster ride. I was an active member of this group few months ago then I stopped logging in...
Someone can update my timeline plz.

Hi guys,

Quick question: I was just looking at the amazing spreadsheet you guys have and I just noticed processing times can range from 40 days to 280 days plus depending on whether your processing office was in Ottawa or London. Our application went through London so it's going to take a little longer. Just wondering what makes the decision for an application to go through London or Ottawa.

Thanks!

Nobody really knows I'm afraid. Some say it depends on the amount of applications currently going through Ottawa, likewise for London. Really it's just the luck of the draw. We're also going through London so know how you feel!

Hi Mary23,

congratulations.!! I'm also March-2014 applicant and my status is still in-process. My re-medical was done in May-2016.

We emailed to visa officer and he replied today that my file is under routine background check and they will contact if anything they need.

Don't know how much time they will take more?

Do you have any idea?

Hello Everyone

Finally I have have been called for the interview in few weeks time. Email has Interview along with following long list documents:

ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU TO INTERVIEW

1. Updated Schedule A forms for you and each dependant, whether accompanying or not.

2. Background documents including any documents to support your answers in the Background/Declaration form (schedule 1)

3. Supplementary Information - Your Travels Forms (IMM 5562) for you and each dependant.

4. Additional Family Information Forms (IMM 5406)

5. Identity and civil status documents for you and your spouse or common-law partner.

6. Children’s information including their birth certificates

7. Police certificates

8. Travel documents and passport.

9. Education documents. Please bring your original educational credentials.

10. Evidence of employment. Please bring a copy of your personal resume (CV) showing your previous work experience and duties, your current and previous employment contracts and reference letters from employers on company letterhead paper which describe your duties and responsibilities. Any employment letters must clearly indicate the full name, title, business address, telephone and fax numbers of the signatory.

11. Evidence of previous work or post-secondary study in Canada for you or your spouse.

12. Proof of relationship to any qualifying relative in Canada (through birth and marriage certificates) and proof of their status in Canada

13. Evidence of any confirmed employment offer in Canada.

14. Proof of sufficient settlement funds currently available and readily transferable to Canada and other financial assets and liabilities, such as personal income tax statements, investments, deeds, property evaluations and mortgages;

15. Any additional evidence that will establish that you meet Canadian immigration requirements.

I mean why "Sufficient Funds"? Is it a case specific list or general list which is sent to everyone? Do we really need to gather all these documents? Really confusing.

Any suggestions/comments PLEASE..!

You might be better off posting on the main board to get more responses from those who have been called for interviews as the vast majority of apps through London aren't called for interviews. :)

Background checks massively depend on a number of factors, so no idea how long it might take.

Hi paknew,
Thanks.... our background check took a year.I was continuously in touch with MP in Canada. I was getting the reply eligibility has been passed, criminality has been passed, its the security part of background which took them longer. MP said we cant interfere with background checks so we cant do anything. We have crossed the limit of frustration. All other file was cleared, no additional information was needed, just waswaiting for background checks. My husband submitted his third medical in June 2016. I even contacted my MP mid of July and still same. Then suddenly we got decision made and passport request. My husband was in UK when we applied, then he moved to Pakistan a year ago.
Just be patience. Hopefully you will get there soon. Do you have any idea when your background checks were started ?

Okay, so time for an update – :o
We applied back in 2015, and were originally refused (apparently we didn’t fit the category that we used), anyway we appealed against the decision. After gathering some other details about how long the appeal process might take we sought to withdraw the appeal and concentrate on getting Married. We then got married in BC, Canada at the end of January 2016 ;) and proceeded with a new application which was submitted in March 2016.

In June, my sponsor received the whole application back and told that we couldn’t have two applications in process! as the first one was still showing “in process”. As you can imagine we were climbing the walls with rage and disappointment. Through my Sponsors MP, we sent back the SAME application with a copy of their letter confirming our withdrawal of appeal which was dated January 2016. (why they never closed the case is beyond me!)

So as it stands, our original application from 2015 has now been removed from ECAS, Yay! However our application that we submitted in March (which they returned to us / and where they said they were returning our fees) is still showing “In Process” for Sponsorship and IN addition, our new application submitted in June is also showing “In Process” for sponsorship.

Seems we may be getting onto the MP again for their interference!... the 56 days (Sponsorship assessment) is up in 4 days time, so we are going to wait until then to see what will happen.

As of yet, we have not seen any return of fees (that we were told that were being processed) so I have no idea as to which of the two applications they will be processing.

As soon as I have any further news, I will update here. :'(

Ugh that is ridiculous but hopefully you are well on your way now! Hopefully!

I've moved you down to being a June applicant on the spreadsheet.

Keep us updated and fingers crossed!

so it's been just over 8 months since i submitted my application to sponsor my wife, and 6 months since it was transferred to London VO. so far there is zero progress and they have not even opened her file yet. disheartening to say the least. tried getting my wife a TRV but they refused, and my job won't allow me to visit her for more than 10 days per year. something tells me i won't get to see her until next summer... unless i quit my job and leave canada to be with her, which seems like my only option at this point.

i can understand complex cases taking longer to process, but they can't really figure out whether a case is complex or straightforward until they actually open it up and review it. is it normal to have to wait this long for initial review? i've looked at the spreadsheet and i see that i'm not alone; none of the december applicants being processed at London have seen any progress.

I pray for a positive response from London visa office next time you call them to check the status of your application.

Things seem to be very quiet on the London VO front. No updates since 1 November applicant got DM.

Hope they get more people working on London's backlog.

check out the spreadsheet in my signature. london sent out a bunch of additional document requests last month for applications submitted in november, but there hasn't been any movement since. i'm unsure of how much more time they'll need before they start finalizing those applications.

Actually, London has made decisions this month. English Timbit (2015 sheet, 15-Oct applicant) had their DM from London on 5-Aug.
Mary23 (2014 sheet) had their DM from London on 1-Aug, Pakistani applicant.

There are still tons from Nov and Dec waiting, though, so the fact that you applied in December and haven't had any movement is completely normal.

Also, you aren't on the spreadsheet. I'd like to add you, since more data on the spreadsheet makes it more accurate. NEed to know the date you got sponsor approval and where the PA is located.

The overall average for London is about 11 months, both for "standard" and for PK applicants. That means December applicants should not expect ot hear until about November, another 3 months from now.

Hi Guys,

Please I got two question and would appropriate any inputs.

1. I am a British citizen and am trying to decide if I should do an outland or inland application. How long is my application likely to take as outland from beggining to the end?

2. Am a bit confused with this part of the application. Do I have to include a Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form for my sponsor as well as per the instruction below.

Thanks in advance

Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)

Who must fill out this application form?

This form must be completed by:

you, the principal applicant;
your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
your dependent children aged 18 years or older (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
